Right who's the next manager then? (11 Viewers)

Well if it's Frank, all the average crap we've accumulated will hopefully go. That's probably the only upside of a high profile appointment
High profile name, not a highly experienced coaching profile though. That's the worry.

Nixons saying Doug’s still reviewing names, Lampard in the frame a couple of others keen. Doesn’t seem to think it’ll take long once Doug has picked someone

Sillett - Nah let's get a big name England international, Terry Butcher.
Eric Black - Nah let's get a big name England International, Peter Reid.
Mark Robbins - Nah let's get a big name England International...
To be fair we’ve tried all types …..

up and coming ….. Aidy Bothroyd, Pressley
Proven …. Tony Mowbray
Desperate ,.. Russell Slade

I was looking at the pattern of fans favourite managers being replaced by High profile English Internationals. Assuming Lampard gets the gig.

I've never understood how there can be betting markets on decisions made by a person/people. You'd have to be a mug to put money on without inside information.
Wait til you release the main manager markets are ran by sky bet. "Breaking news here on sky sports news, we understand Russell Slade is on the list for..."

And you can find the latest odds here on skybet!

So Nixon doesn’t know anything then.
Apart from what we all know. Just seems to confirm that it doesn’t look like we’ve already got someone in mind like a few thought.

Can’t see anyone else but Lampard at this point. Seems his agent is doing all they can, got sky sports on it, some news outlets and Jody Morris on Talk sport all going on about how he could do a job for us.

Least he wants the job if he gets it

I don’t think it’s a foregone conclusion because we may consider European managers we’ve never heard of.

On Lampard, he won’t be as bad people make out. We’re a Championship club.

Don’t mind Lampard.

Think there’s a pile on here. Did well at Chelsea first year and Derby. Don’t think Chelsea second year was that bad. First in his champions league group and not terrible in the league.

Everton was bad but to be fair Rafa Bentiez struggled there, same as Carlos and others. Won’t be the first or last manager to struggle at Everton.

Big strength is developing players which is what he did well at Derby and Chelsea. Not my first pick but think it’s been blown out of proportion.

It’s funny how people look at his struggles at Chelsea and Everton and conclude he wouldn’t do anything here.

If a player couldn’t make it in the prem we wouldn’t write them off as being useless for us?

Obviously management and playing are very different, but I think it’s an interesting parallel.

Yay. The future is bright!!

All joy to the world.

I suppose the best way of looking at it is, he can't be a failure forever. At some point it has to click, even if it is Toxteh U11's, reserves for girls
Fail forever? He's already won the spfl with rangers you idiot

You’re both on the money.

Chelsea have struggled under Potter and Potchettino and Everton have struggled with top class managers like Ancelotti and Benitez. Sean Dyche is perhaps the best manager in the league to have for a club fighting for Premiership survival.

Lampard was just out of his depth and too inexperienced to deal with those situations. Was a good manager for Derby and developed players all over the pitch for them so it wouldn’t be the terrible appointment some like to suggest on here.

it wont be Frank - the betting drifting too much
I doubt he has made his mind up yet = as no other strong runner in the betting

It might be Lampard, it might not. I doubt DK has decided either way right now.

The betting market is all guesswork really. The bookmakers will probably be the first guide as to who the new manager is though, as once they get an inkling of who the new manager is they will simply stop taking bets on the market.

As many know, MLS / America is my area of expertise. There is one manager that any overseas club would be crazy not to consider right now.

Wilfried Nancy (Columbus) - French coach who is by far and away the best tactical manager currently in North America. Absolutely brilliant. The two teams he has managed experienced immediate improvement. He plays a high-possession beautiful brand of football. Honestly, I think he is destined for a Ligue 1 job sooner rather than later.

The only downside for his fit with Coventry would be that it would likely require a bit remaking of the backline. He absolutely demands that his CDs be able to pass and be excellent with their feet to the point that he often plays only one true CD with the LCD and RCD being converted fullbacks.

Binks is excellent with his feet.

Bobby Thomas isn’t bad either (yes, I know people will disagree with me on this).

Wilfred Nancy has done an amazing job at the crew. Would be a great shout but like you say can’t see him coming as think he’ll go ligue 1 soon

Do you think he would apply though?
