Just been told both Mark Noon and Greggor Rioch have left the club.

I sincerely hope that this is not true. If it however then I can see big problems with SP unless of course he has his own man lined up.

Unless SP is the one who insisted they go?

Would they be pushed? I hope it isn't true but look forward to hearing the reasoning and what has happened.

If they have been snapped up by a Prem Team I can sort of understand, if they have been pushed for no reason....

Someone was saying here the other day that we had a new youth development guy come in already? I can't remember exactly who or when, but they were pre-empting a possible Rioch exit.

From the outside it appears Rioch at least has done a great job so can't see this being anything other than bad news...

Shame if true. The current success of the academy very much down to Rioch who as achieved so much under very difficult circumstances.

First misstep from Pressley if it's his decision IMO. Rioch has done wonders.

Really? Any reason why?

The whole situation at the club must be very unsettling.. I am surprised more haven't left.

Could this be partially to do with all the farting around about the return to the Higgs Centre, maybe there will not be a cat 2 academy next year?

Is it a coincidence that Pressley appointed Darren Murray from Hearts on the 9th October

I was in Edinburgh week before last and talking to a workmate who is the font of all knowledge on Hearts, She was so p*ssed off that we has "stolen" Murray and said it is a bigger loss than any player they have lost in many years. She is convinced we will be signing up the cream of Scottish youth players over the next few years.

If that is true...I hope it's not a case of "There endeth the..." academy pipeline

No as we have just employed Darren Murray.

Darren Murray by all accounts.

Pressley would be a fool to want to replace those 2? They've done a fantastic job.

Misstep? perhaps, perhaps not. Perhaps Rioch had taken us as far as he could go....

Its like the prgression of the English Cricket team. When Fletcher with Hussain as captain took over we were a pretty poor outfit, they got us playing a different way, improved the professionalism, made us harder to beat, bought in a new attitude but we still were not amongst the Elite. Vaughan took over as captain and gave us a bit more on the field, results continually improved and we won the Ashes in 05, Since then, despite some blips we have remained near the top of all forms of the game and gone on to be very successful. Hopefully this Murray can go on to do a similar job.

Was the Murray move mentioned much here? I had no idea of it until that rumour thread last week about Rioch.

It was on the official site and also back page of the Telegraph IIRC.

Murray is very highly rated. The only concern I would have with this is if / when Pressley leaves. I say fair play to Pressley, he know who he wants around him and isn't afraid to make tough decisions.

I know nothing about him. Who highly rates him exactly...other than the obvious SP?
What credentials has he got?
