You didn’t answer the question
For every 400 near misses there’s an accident and similar for accidents to serious accidents thats risk management and it’s why it’s done
Is it dangerous to mix 30000 with cars yes can we mitigate the risk yes? Should we? No fuck it well risk it come on answer please.
It's a welcome effort, but really it's a farcical attempt to solve a 'problem' (getting thousands of people from one train station to another) that has a screamingly obvious solution.
The train company, or failing that, a charter service. It's not like they haven't done it before: London Midland hires rolling stock to plug sports gap | Railnews | Today's news for Tomorrow's railwayI don’t see the station as an obvious solution as who would provide the rolling stock?
I'm afraid I don't know the name of the road but they pick up at the bus stop behind Tesco, and every time I've been on one the traffic hasn't been a problemwhich way do they go? surely they still get caught up in the traffic?

Fucking bizarre that its easier heading back in to town than getting on a motorway! What's the hold up there, is it actually getting out of the Novotel car park or do they need to look at changing the lights on the roundabout to let more cars out of Pickards Way?I’ve parked numerous places this year. I have to go onto M6, sometimes to Nuneaton first to drop off cousin.
I have parked twice at Novotel and surrounding areas and after walking 20/25 mins have then spent best part of 45 mins before I am on the motorway I can literally see.
Have had the same issues for all car parks I have tried.

Both. Longford Road backs up which then gridlocks the A444/M6 roundabout.Fucking bizarre that it’s easier heading back in to town than getting on a motorway! The northbound platform is three coaches long, the southbound platform is six coaches long. (The train I caught on Wednesday was more than two coaches iirc)It’s a two coach platform. You would need trains going every 5 minutes to get people into the centre. I don’t see London midland provided that service every other week and I doubt they’d have the capacity
Long long way off but is the tram system the council keep going on about planned to arrive at the arena? The northbound platform is three coaches long, the southbound platform is six coaches long. (The train I caught on Wednesday was more than two coaches iirc)
There was a short-lived plan to increase capacity by using London Underground trains that could run every 20 minutes which would have been paid for by Wasps - don't know how feasible it was, but I would appreciate some kind of effort for a much bigger fanbase like ours. Otherwise if the mentality you're describing prevails then obviously it will never be fixed or improved.

The club buses go Windmill Road, Hall Green Road and then the Bell Green Road/Stoney Stanton Road in to townwhich way do they go? surely they still get caught up in the traffic?
I guess we'll just keep everyone waiting in their cars thenI don’t see a railway company commission rolling stock and making timetable changes for 23 days a year
What about any ordinary motorist who can’t use the 444 past Tesco to get on the M6? Why should they be inconvenienced by idiot pedestrians coming out of the ground?
Roadworks or people who aren't waiting for the roads to reopen? All of the traffic is diverted over that way.
Ultimately you've got nearly 30K people going to a stadium that doesn't have the infrastructure to support that many people leaving. You see the same complaints whenever there's a concert in the stadium.Both. Longford Road backs up which then gridlocks the A444/M6 roundabout.
Honestly, no idea how they solve it. The roads cannot cope with a closure so other solutions need to be found.

Sorry, yeah yeah parking restrictions are still there mate. Don't bother. Honestly not worth the parking ticket...I thought Blackburn Rd was in the parking restrictions?
I always used to park there but haven't for the last few years as I believed it had been added to the restrictions
I guess we'll just keep everyone waiting in their cars then
The timing of the trains is completely maddening - I left a couple of minutes early on Wednesday to make the 21:50 and it was a breeze. Amend the schedule by even 10 minutes and you could allow hundreds more people to safely and easily leave the stadium; instead it’s almost perfectly timed so there’s no point even considering the train unless you leave early or wait almost an hour. And of course it doesn’t run at all on weekends because ~*~reasons~*~.
It’s so insane that I have to assume it’s deliberately inconvenient for crowd control reasons or something?
Ffs keirTen years and a whole new combined authority later and nothing has changed. Thanks Obama.
Sorry if I've missed it but what were the three specific points?Pete,
Thanks for the message and thank-you for reaching out.
The road closure itself is managed and operated by the CBS Safety team, as a club we don’t have any involvement in the operation itself on the day and don’t have any control over the timings etc. Supporters who attend a game at the Arena are coming to see Coventry City FC and rightly want to communicate with the club and its important that everybody feels they can question when they feel something is not right. We are doing everything possible (it may not look like it which I suspect will be the feedback) to ensure things work smoothly on the day itself and ensure if things are not done correctly these are picked up and discussed in detail.
On Wednesday evening, there was a delay to the road closure opening due to an incident which involved a member of the road safety team while trying to open the road, which then further delayed the opening due to liaising with police and ensuring the member of staff was ok. I fully understand the frustration as I was sitting in the delays myself, we all want to get home after game quickly, especially a midweek game.
I am listening and as a team we are working hard to ensure we take feedback and relay and adjust where needed. On the points below, I will share and provide feedback.
Please feel free to ask any further questions.
Thanks
John

when he responds on the three specific points in question I’ll share
Car park a is a shit showSorry if I've missed it but what were the three specific points?
Could one option be that I suggested on the last forum thread about traffic on the motorway side of the ground being all funneled to the Motorway and on the Tesco side into town? It would free up lots of the traffic without risk to those crossing the roads and then when the other routes do open, the remaining traffic will also move more freely as lots of the congestion has already moved away from the area.
*edit: and if it isn't and you agree that it's a sensible solution, then can you put this to John and ask him to forward the suggestion to the policing or those who make the decision? Hard to believe as it's their job that they wouldn't already have considered it, but you never know I guess!
Not the one I was on.It went down Foleshill Road Not too badThe club buses go Windmill Road, Hall Green Road and then the Bell Green Road/Stoney Stanton Road in to town
