Would anyone fancy him back? Didn't do too bad for them in all honesty..

No thanks. There must be better options out there.....we'll be replacing deadwood with deadwood.

League one he could be useful. Doubt he'd want too much of a wage. And if played up front and not out wife, could do a job. I'd say he's worth a 1 yr deal with the option of a second

And "not out wife" that a new position haha

If he's not good enough for Oldham, why would he be good enough for us?

I don't believe he would want to join us,what decent player would join a sinking ship.

He can't be that 'decent' if he got released by... Oldham!

According to this, he wasn't even offered a deal! (EDIT: I think it turns out he just wanted to go, my bad!)

Either way, he isn't good enough for CCFC anyway, moreover, age is no longer on his side being 28 (not saying it's old, just saying he isn't going to improve much).

I really don't think we should be snapping up players deemed not good enough for Oldham.

That's our level now. Look at madden at Yeovil. Couldn't get in the Carlisle team and done wonders at Yeovil.

Unless something radical changes sharpish it's just going be a team of kids next year guys mark my words - no money, embargo, manager's preference - we're going to get eaten alive in this league next season we are truly screwed

why are we always so obsessed with re-signing our old players? Move on

Some people on here are disullusioned if they think we are going to sign better players than Robbie Simpson,he would walk into our team in league 1,who apart from Clarke amongst our strikers is better ? I believe we got about £300k for him when we sold him.

And you're basing that on what?

You do realise he's scored just 12 league goals since leaving us 4 years ago?

We signed Leon Clark and secured mcgoldrick on loan. Simpson was poor when with us and is now even worse. We need to develop some young up and coming forwards not a never was been like Simpson.

He's a better target man than Ball...and we don't have any other target men other than Clarke. Not saying we should sign him, mind.

Agree, Simpson was quite good in the air (noticeably so when deployed out wide under Coleman when we looked to use him to flick it on to Morrison and Eastwood). As a striker in the one up top Pressley system however, not good enough. He went to Loughborough Uni with Baby Elvis/Franky Fryer off Soccer AM - genuine bloke but wouldn't improve the CCFC squad now.
