Robins and King (4 Viewers)

To be fair if it’s that bad, what can we do to help? No offensive to the coaches but wouldn’t want any of them to take over atm.

Only option would be to put George on the interviews but I get a sense from robins he wouldn’t allow it.

Think this is it. Robins doesn't trust them yet so he's cracking on

Boateng on media duties should be a no brainer I agree

Hence why I've been quite calm on all the Robins out talk etc

Especially with what he's going through at the moment in his personal life, I feel Doug could have pulled him out of the firing line tbh.

If Viveash was still here you'd have more than likely seen him in charge on Saturday, rightly so.

Robins deserves the time to turn it around. But we're in a results business and if results don't happen he will inevitably, rightly, be questioned
What’s going on in his personal life?

Mate I'm not against you honestly. You bring a lot of good stuff to this forum and I agree with you more often then not. It just seems when anything positive about Doug gets mentioned your straight onto it.

Robins make a positive quote about Doug and now you saying essentially Robins is lying with his qoutes and he hates Doug??

Clearly you know much more than me but why such a downer on Doug? Must be more to it. Is it the way he's treated your insider mates or something?

Well I will have to take your word for it,as don’t know about the other clubs.
But if as you say, they all have high profile performance directors, nutritionists and the number of coaches we are now employing. I will be amazed.
Interestingly - Bristol City have a first team coach analyst - they have someone who analyses the coaches.

depends which club you want to be - unlikely that the Rotherham’s of the world will have them. But I assume we don’t aspire to just hanging around the bottom half of the league.

Don't get me wrong he has done some great things. The training ground is incredible compared to what it was, the off field structure, way better. Of course has allowed Robins to invest aswell

But this isn't from King. The club has been changed off the back of the 2 best players we have had in generations. 1 of them maybe THE best we've ever had the way he's going

Yes he's allowed us to reinvest when sisu wouldn't have. But is that not basic for a football club owner?

Secondly, I've been shouted down for it on here a few times, but again, he never 'brought' the club. He was given the club. He had the ability to put Sisu under but what would he get? Pennies in the pound. This way he has a real chance of getting back his investment lost with sisu previously.

Ask yourself why would a man, who openly admitted he had never been to a match or even knew where the CBS was would buy us?

Why did literally no media get wind? Not even the local paper. A tweet from the club out of the blue saying a man no one had ever heard of, who shared offices with sisu and proven links with Dermot Coleman had brought us.

It's all over sky sports news when anyone even thinks of taking a club over. Nothing at all for us.

Sisu we're and still are, destitute. We were weeks away from going tits up, Hyam was sold to pay the tax bill. We brought 1 free agent and 2 loans in in that window.

Why is everything within 5 years (now 4) stadium deal, prem package, Robins contract etc.

The signs are quite obvious that this wasn't a normal takeover. I dont trust the man, I never have and never will due to how he acquired the club.

As I say he's run us a lot better than the previous shitshow that nearly took us into oblivion numerous times and can't knock him for that. But the adulation and putting on a pedestal isn't for me

Very few modern club owners buy a club because it was their life long passion or plan to do so.

Do you really think Sheik Mansour, Todd Boehly, Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha, Tom Brady, etc etc etc grew up with this ambition ??

It doesn’t make them good or bad owners. What determines that is what they do when they are in charge.

Will King still be in charge 3 years from now ?probably not but if whilst he’s here he makes us a much better club then what’s wrong with that ???

Understand wariness considering on previous owners even before Sisu.

If I take everything at 100% face value and why not, I’d argue if he wants to come in make us a top championship side or sneak into the premiership and sell us on to repay his sisu debt so be it.

Honestly like most business deals it fits both sides. We get five years of having money spent on us either training, playing squad, or getting the commercial side modernised. And then he sells us on hopefully to someone he trusts after being involved in the club who want to either continue growing us in the same model or want to push it on.

Either way, win win. Rather than then he pretend to be a mega fan who expects nothing in return.

I am with you. At first he made out he knew nothing about SISU just shared an office in the building.
Came from Kenilworth, knew nothing about football but supported city.
Fair enough he has seemingly spent the money generated from Gus and Vik sales, but something still doesn’t sit right.
Where are our debts? Nothing vanishes into fresh air.

Not having an Assistant Manager is baffling, you need another fresh brain and pair of eyes to bounce ideas off. Also act as a safe point of contact for the players

Clearly the current model isn't working at the moment and if we don't fix it soon then we are going to massively underachieve this season

For me Robins has to stay, so either appoint an Assistant Manager or review the new coaching staff

I mean he’s admitted being wrong already a few times like JSB this season.

Also on the stadium we put a strong bid forward which was more than Frasers but we’re too late. If I recall I remember him thinking we’re too late but we were going to try anyway?
Not so much as too late but he was not ready to complete and wanted time to agree contract and get funding

He bought the Club thinking he had a winning hand - clearly not done similar deals before nor dealt with Receivers!!

Didn’t he finalise on the Club after missing out on the arena.

Also the judge argued it was simply too late in court. The offer was there but for how long it was going on for the people who had put money in it was too late to entertain another bid when we had not even seen the inside of the stadium.

Also on this note, w do people think the arena is a goldmine. It’s never made money, never has the trades like the NEC or the big concerts. I think every year it’s lost money and if not wrong Frasers have had to do non stop work on it including cleaning it up now.

It makes sense for the football club to own it as they have to play somewhere. For anyone else including Doug. It’s a black hole.

I don’t recall him saying he didn’t know Sisu. Considering he went into a 85-15 split with them he must of know then in some format to trust their involvement originally (Before actually talking to them 🤣).

I don’t recall him saying he did support City, remember him oddly saying he loves sports like Golf and saw the opportunity due to the manager and the size of the city (and local due to business).

On the debt, I assume this was waived in place of Sisus debt to King. If Sisu could never afford the debt they owed maybe they cleared this one and gave the club as a 1-1.

Didn't Frasers buying the Arena have something to do with the new HQ they want to build in Ansty? I've heard they're trying to buy up real estate in the city.

I think there trying to get into the community through the stadium as your right there trying to build a new headquarters in Ansty for all three businesses. To be honest, wouldn’t shock me that if they do manage to get it built in four years, they buy us next.

He signed the club agreement pre the ground completion with a deferred element

If he had bought the club post ground sale that makes even less sense as the Club was served a leaving notice.

I don't understand the comment DK had not seen the inside of the stadium. So he put an offer in 'blind' ? The Receivers set a completion date of which DK was aware but he thought by putting in a higher offer the Court would extend the date. However that would only have worked (possibly) if DK could show he had the funds ir certainty of at the extended date.

So this is just my understanding. Doug king agrees to buy the club on the 16th November and launches 25 million bid to buy arena.

Brings this to court which is agreeing on the sale due to the debt needing to be the best deal decided by the court for the People indebit to Wasps on the 17th. Judge rules that deal was too late and since Ashley had been funding the arena and had an exclusivity deal offered the best money for the debt as per administration rules.

Doug then looks to complete the purchase of the club that happens in January after Ashley gave the club an eviction notice on the 5th December.

And yeah he put in the bid blind without having a Valuer review it like Ashley did. This was noted as one of the reasons it was too late by the judge as if we had found something we could of pulled out.

The judge ruled he had credible funds but concerned that the club had to no commit to complete where as Ashley did.

More or less - I cannot confirm the actual dates

There is one other item in that Ashley had paid £1m option fee that entitled him to do full dd so was ahead from the start. He also had an agreement with CCC on taking over the long lease which put another plus to the Judge.

Frasers we're so well prepared I understand all the transfer papers ( including CCC) were signed at the Court on the day

Yeah, if the valuation showed for instance work was going to cost 30 million, we might of pulled out or reduced our offer. Or if we were financing it using bank funds they could have pulled out leaving without us having funds.

Like if you find the perfect house but then find it’s worthless due to Japanese knotweed. Fraser had done this work and reduced their offer already because of it
