Okay, I was responding to a poster who said he’s from Kenilworth and supports CCFC. I replied he isn’t. I don’t care where he’s from.

Hope that’s enough for you.

Yeah it was a club offer thus the we. But sure Doug could have pulled out. This is why the arena went to Frasers who got all their ducks in a row.
King was certain he could get Club and Ground and committed his investors on that basis

Frasers also wanted both but bought the ace card - the ground and are prepared to wait for the Club

They, of course have no problem with funding

Not so much as too late but he was not ready to complete and wanted time to agree contract and get funding

He bought the Club thinking he had a winning hand - clearly not done similar deals before nor dealt with Receivers!!
Perhaps the plan is to have a greater coaching pool to choose an Assistant Manager from(?)

What are Frasers waiting for then? If Doug wants to sell, and they have no problems with funding why are they waiting. After all surely they realise we’ll cost a lot more if we go up.

Possibly cash flow. They're in the process of establishing their new headquarters, etc, which would take priority over owning a football club

I’m personally not convinced over the Fraser piece.

They showed zero appetite to buy us when we were clearly distressed and available at a knock down price.

Mike Ashley is a billionaire, he can buy us at any point he wants … cash flow won’t be holding him back if he truly wants the asset.

I saw nothing in his ownership of Newcastle that would make me think he would be a good owner of the club.

What rent do you think they will charge if we get promoted?

They only have to wait 3 years or so to renew rent and the EFL will be watching the lease term

Let DK spend his money upgrading stadium and team and wait?

I’ve met many very very wealthy people and the one thing none of them had was patience.

If they are prepared to wait 3-4 years then they only want it if it’s available at a knock down price and have no real desire to own it.

He’s very knowledgeable from past posts about financial dealings within the club

He didn't own the CBS so no interest in CCFC

Don't think cash is a problem

Very few modern club owners buy a club because it was their life long passion or plan to do so.

Do you really think Sheik Mansour, Todd Boehly, Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha, Tom Brady, etc etc etc grew up with this ambition ??

It doesn’t make them good or bad owners. What determines that is what they do when they are in charge.

Will King still be in charge 3 years from now ?probably not but if whilst he’s here he makes us a much better club then what’s wrong with that ???
Doh isn't that his Brother?👀🙆🤔

He did say that about the midfield last season, numerous times and particularly raised it against quality opposition.

Going into the season, the squad felt incomplete and nothing changed as the window closed. Defensively, and in midfield we look weak.

I feel like we’ve allowed expectations to get OTT. This summer we’ve only strengthened in wide areas and with strikers. The midfield and defence hasn’t changed and with that, the issues carrying over from last season.
Specifically we have no spine.
GK CD CM.
Dovin has looked passive at home. More settled away.

Funny you say that. My cousin is convinced King is here on a short term tidy up of the club ready to sell it to Fraser Group, Hence the 5 years. He makes money either way, if we go up we’ll go for significant sums if not - he probably got the club for pennies but a tidy club in the championship will still make him money

If they look at it as a property deal they will wait. They will be paying a low interest rate ( if any ) but getting double in rental income.

Get a good tenant review increase and value rises exponentially

UK property traditionally goes in 5 year cycles which the clever people watch

I don’t recall him saying he didn’t know Sisu. Considering he went into a 85-15 split with them he must of know then in some format to trust their involvement originally (Before actually talking to them 🤣).

I don’t recall him saying he did support City, remember him oddly saying he loves sports like Golf and saw the opportunity due to the manager and the size of the city (and local due to business).

On the debt, I assume this was waived in place of Sisus debt to King. If Sisu could never afford the debt they owed maybe they cleared this one and gave the club as a 1-1.
As has been repeated ad nauseum Sisu did not owe King anything and had never had any previous financial dealings

I am with you. At first he made out he knew nothing about SISU just shared an office in the building.
Came from Kenilworth, knew nothing about football but supported city.
Fair enough he has seemingly spent the money generated from Gus and Vik sales, but something still doesn’t sit right.
Where are our debts? Nothing vanishes into fresh air.
Still there ,surely. It was a transfer of the golden share by Sisu to King. What was the deal ? What was/is the price ??

The question has remained though hasn’t it. Why is King interested in us? He has absolutely no connection. Wouldn’t be surprised to see a quick flip.

I’ve been happy with Dovin, personally. Likewise, neutral fans have been complementary of him. Agree that there is something lacking in defence and midfield.
Sorry I know this discussion doesn't belong in this imo, very good thread. I'm with Dovin. But he is young & yet to contribute to organising his central defence/ fullbacks.

We were clearly payment for some debt. I doubt he ever wanted us, just figured “why not”.

you usually speak a lot of sense but my god you're having an absolute meltdown at the moment. I reckon in 9 months you might have egg on your face.

Cue "nothing would make me happier..."

Just feels different. Been having concerns for a while and just so pissed off what King has done when handed lightning in a bottle.

My friend please remove any thoughts of SISU / DK debt

Never existed

Genuinely don’t get why he’s got the club then. No interest in the sport. Big coincidence he shares an office with Joy.

All it needed was the financial pressure taking off, not some kind of real life Pokémon but with backroom staff.
