Robins had zero clue (1 Viewer)

Imagine being loyal to the man who has been behind one of the best eras in the clubs history?
What they like?!

As I said nothing is ever black and white. Do you stay loyal until he is in his death bed and we are in league 2 again? Where is that line drawn?

Loyalty means nothing in business. It’s ok to look at the past fondly and decide a change is needed for the next step.

Yes. Now we spend £4.5m on Ephron Mason Clarke and sign a new first team keeper every five minutes.

Transfer policy has gone off a cliff since King arrived. It used to be the envy of the league, now it’s spending £45m to get relegated.
I don't disagree that it looks like we have overspent on various players, although I still believe they will come good as the new ones did last season.

But the point is we use a data driven approach to sign these players (rightly or wrongly), and there is nothing to suggest we wouldn't do the same to recruit non playing staff like a manager if it ever came to it

When has King ever underspent on a big name? It's the opposite of his approach so far

Do we though?

Because we did with Vil and Gus. Their stats were spoken about as some of the best when they signed. Tyler Walker’s xG too.

Can you name a single stat mentioned or that any of these signings are supposed to be excelling in that made us bring them in?

I don't think loyalty to a man who has given us so much to cheer about is to be derided personally.

And at some point he will go, but we're not at that point yet as far as I'm concerned. Especially given he's turned around equally bad starts in our last 2 season, (though admittedly I think there are deeper underlying problems this time round).

Based on his comments about the players not listening nor following simple instructions, it'll be very hard for him to turn that around if that's actually the case.

With Leeds pressing aggressively we needed someone to do something a little bit different rather than take the easy option.
The problem is I'm not sure we've got players who've got that in their locker. And you can't expect people to do something they're not capable of.

Agree about the changes.
Its not rocket science. 2 up front and an early ball up to them takes out the high pressing players. Wide players or midfielders push up in support and overload them.
Teams seem to have sussed out formation out and its time for a change of style as the current one is definitely not working.

I’m not fully disagreeing, I’m more playing devils advocate and trying to comment from a business/results standpoint … the one thing i will say though is this start whatever the points situation, in comparison, feels worse.

Victor Torp created the most chances in the Eliteserien.
Mason-Clarke’s goals, chance creation and defensive numbers were all elite last season.
Rudoni had great ball-winning and ball progression numbers and was considered one of the most O’Hare-like players in the country.
Dovin was statistically the best or 2nd best goalie in his league.
Thomas and Kitching both put up excellent numbers in their season together at Barnsley.

Everyone we’ve signed, bar BTA, has had very impressive statistical numbers the season before we signed them. Asante I assume was a Robins request.

Have you got the interview where the club talks about these?

Why would any manager come in if they’re going to have to take the blame for Doug and Claire’s shitty decisions?

It’s the boards job and dependent on who applies
you'd only sack him to bring someone better in, else what’s the point, remember our run of 14 managers in 14 years, we Need to be careful, can’t see a problem with just leaving robins to work it out, it’s not like he hasn’t done it before, we ended up at wembley both those seasons

Any new manager would need at least the full season after this one for a fair judgment.

We’re 7 games in.

We’ve had shit starts to the last two seasons and finished in a play off final and FA cup semi

Aidy was cleared sacked for gross misconduct hence no statement, no transparency and statements through lawyers. He wasnt the messiah, he was also an ‘unknown’ coach when he joined.

We have assembled a young squad as per the desired “brentford” model. They’re taking time to flourish is all.

There is nothing but rumours in the “King wont sign matty james” narrative. Stop confusing rumours and facts.

The leaks at the club have stopped, stop making up other rumours to try to fit a club in crisis narrative. It is just as likely that King and Robins are completely on the same page and in agreement about everything. Noone knows anything for fact.

Robins should have a job at this club for life. He goes when he wants. He is a principled man that if it was really that bad and he felt he couldnt fix it he’d go himself. As someone said, a relegation to league 2 wouldnt happen under him. If King sacks him he can have back my season ticket. I wont sanction that nonsense.

The vocal minority are incredibly entitled, drawn in by the hype train around us. They were the same at the start of last season too, i remember it well.

We’ll come good, we’ll have a great season with some very good youngsters, we’re lacking leadership without sheaf in the side

We’re not competing with Leeds, the season we were a penalty away from the Prem we lost home and away to Burnley

We arent going to get fucking relegated stop shitting your pants. Even if we didnt improve at all, there are some shite teams in this league we’d still beat. Honestly the mood swings some of you have should be diagnosed

This is just cope I’m sorry. The word coming from the club is very clear from multiple sources and aligns with what we’re seeing with our own eyes.

you’ve honestly lost it mate.

people are absolutely fucking obsessed with the performance director it’s bordering on weird. bet they wouldn’t think twice if it was a bloke

Honestly I think you wouldn’t be defending them so much if they were a bloke.

She’s top of the pile so she gets the blame. But the other staff changes are just as to blame.

Doug hasn’t a clue what he’s doing and is clearly taking advice from the shiniest PowerPoint like he would at a business. He hasn’t recognised what made us punch above our weight and in trying to “modernise” has destroyed our competitive advantage. By sticking his nose into transfers he’s created a squad of weak minded kids who can’t hack being coached or the rigours of Championship football.

What needs to change is that. And if it changes there’s no one better than Robins for CCFC. If it doesn’t change then it doesn’t matter who is manager because they’re not making the decisions.

The staff we’ve brought in have no experience at this level. Dr Claire was working with the PL on VAR, not at a club. The coaches have come from African football and youth football.

It’s been a fucking disaster and no one at the club bar Doug can fix it but he’s too bloody minded to even admit that’s the problem.

100% this. Its because she’s female. They hate the thought of Robins reporting to a female (plot twist he doesnt)

It’s because she’s shit. The only people focusing on her sex are those defending her based on nothing but an assumption of sexism.

FFS Aidy came from youth coaching!!
High Performance is high performance regardless of sport, its about creating a culture and environment for athletes to flourish.
We were plucky underdogs before and it suited us at the time, we scrapped pennies together, but we also famously missed out on signings because they took one look around and said fuck that.

It was absolutely the right thing to do to modernise the club, facilities and coaching structure. The new culture and environment will take time to bed in. It always does, some will grow, some will shrink. We’re seeing that and Robins is talking about that now.

Its investing for the future of the club. It took Brentford time, it will take us time too, maybe longer, maybe sooner.
Sacking the manager at this point is the exact opposite path from the one King has sanctioned and chosen. It wont happen

Boatang hasn’t come from African football. He was coaching at Villa for 3 years.
