Robins had zero clue (8 Viewers)

I don’t think any pundits or bookies had us down for a bottom half finish, never mind where we are currently. It’s safe to call it underperforming so far.
Yep, absolutely agree with are underperforming so far. No arguments from me.

But thankfully, the season doesnt finish now, 39 games still to play.

I said it on another thread, but last season at this point, Preston were top of the league, they finished nowhere. Doesnt matter where we are now, its where we’ll finish. We’ll come good we have to keep the faith, back the players, the manager and the coaches.

This isn’t about Robins. He’s a proven operator. The new face in the mix is King. The “we’ve been rescued” period is now giving way to the he doesn’t actually know what he’s doing and he’s making the decisions one.
I was with Robins until he started playing down / managing expectations, does this not become self perpetuating? On the back of a terrible end to last season, 5 defeats and a draw, starting the season with positivity and optimism was essential. Indecision now appears to be normal. If he is to remain we need to start winning football matches quickly.

Ah is it the "give them something really shit so they are happy with something half shit?" Approach?

At the start of the season, a play off challenge would have been the expectation.
Completely agree

top half finish isn’t good enough

I’m just saying you’d take it now, as relegation could be feasible at this rate

He’s made mistakes for sure, but that still doesn’t excuse what these players are serving up. A lot are hiding and hoping for someone to step up and bail them out of games.

You can clearly see the divide between the professionals in the group and those being carried by them.

David Wagner. A manager who's team finished above ours last season? He insulted our club, so what.
Robins scored against our club and cost us points. Are we not allowed to employ anyone who upsets a few of us

A Player is Paid to Score Goals, a Manager is NOT Paid to Insult Another Club.

Mark Robins Would NEVER Do It.

I Just Have Higher Standards.

Well they didn't come with him and they've been hired by the club . If you get your long standing wish and we sack Robins I think the new guy would have the same coaching staff
It’s not a long standing wish, I just want us to get better results, it’s pretty simple

I assume a coach would want to bring his own people in

Think for me the big frustration at the moment is that everyone knows it’s not working including Robins but every game we set up in the same shape with pretty much the same gameplay which we all know isn’t working.

We never seem to make tactical changes and just stick like for like players on. I would have been happier losing against Leeds if we at least tried to change something. At this point, feels like insanity to just keep playing the same tactic hoping it all clicks.

Change what? Our issue is midfield. Who are you bringing on? We concede easy goals. Who are you bringing on? It’s not players or systems that needed change. It was mindset.

I see why he hasn’t changed too much shape wise as it would work better with players able to move the ball around more quickly and generally move more themselves. This remains the thing they need to be putting extra hours in training for.

Robins if I’m not wrong did call Adi directly tho and asked him to come and work for him. Bit of a difference compared to someone else going these are your coaches best of luck.

Robins was involved with the recruitment of the coaches wasn't he?

Robins has said he’s involved in the decision making on the coaches.

Robins also fell out with Adi. Robins said the quality of applicants for the the assistant manager led him to appoint 2 coaches rather than an assistant.

Robins has backed the club to move to an elite level structure and said Dr Claire has been great.

We’ve had record season ticket sales and the CBS packed. Shirt sales off the scale. Doug is sorting income streams into the club.

There’s been significant investment such as the training ground, Robins has been backed with money to spend on players more than any other manager in our history.

It was Robins decision to appoint his mate Dean Austin as Head of Recruitment. He approves with Dean the players to go for after recommendations.

Robins makes the team selection and selects the tactics. He keeps saying the players aren’t carrying out instructions. The players look like they can’t be arsed.

Robins has done wonders for the club over the years but all the above points to him being backed and failing to deliver right now. He’s in a fight to save his job. I hope he sorts it but he’s got no where to turn right now.
Lovely read, but this is the official version of events, are you telling me that he preferred the move for stamenic over AlunBrown because I'm sorry I don't buy it, all of those points in your version are the official version, when it gets to court we'll also understand the reason for Ady leaving., I'm with the ones who questioned the team photo!!

And they appointed plenty of serial winners too .. but part of the reason why man utd were so successful under ferguson besides him being a great manager was it was basically his club at footballing level and he ran the show

You get the feeling that's been taken from robins a bit

A lot of commentators do think though Ferguson running the whole club was going to cause problems when he left as the structure was totally different to other clubs.

It was backward in many ways. Here robins ran it I suspect very differently which does cause issues. Viveash clearly was a major influence and his going has clearly caused issues. The structure set up is there it seems so if he does go we have a template managers are used to at this level

I think I preferred the old template where we won more games than we lost to be honest!

While this make sense I wonder if a more gradual move towards this model might have worked?
Perhaps replacing Viveash with another number 2 but phasing the role out gradually if that's the intention.

Whatever model the club move towards the correct coaches have to be in place
