Coventry boss says well 'orchestrated' transfer business will attract quality
Coventry City news from CoventryLive as Sky Blues boss Mark Robins reacts to owner Doug King's five year promotion plan and outlines the realities of the summer transfer windowwww.coventrytelegraph.net
He sounds optimistic!
We will seeHas any manager ever came out and said "yeah i'll have loadsa money this summer"? No, because who the fuck wants to show their hand.
We will, but in the meantime we can either choose to be optimistic and hopeful that King is going to invest his money seeing as he wants we the fans to also.We will see

The proof will ultimately be in the pudding. But I think Robins has not sounded happier since King came in tbh. He seems positive about the future. If Robins is then why shouldn't we be positive also?
Yes I'd imagine we will. And we all know under SISU crumbs of that would be reinvested. If Vik goes and we use those funds to keep the rest of our players increase our strength in depth to really push on and cement a top 6 place then we would all be happy. We will most likely also have huge finances available after the sale of vik , should we fail to go up
What we have to be wary of is that whatever we get for Vik, Brighton will be snapping off a percentage of that, I would then assume Doug will have some for updating of Ryton/increase in rent at CBS/increased wages, so what will be left for MR may be less than we would all be hoping for
Why is that much of a surpriseSo is the plan again to be owned by someone who doesn’t want to actually inject funds?

He said he's spending on Ryton, although I'd imagine the vik sale will cover any costs on that , unless we go upBecause you may as well have one of us in charge if the owner doesn’t wish to spend their own money. Most other owners seem to provide something over and above the club’s turnover unless I’m mistaken.
He has spoken about everyone having to make sacrifices. What are his?
100% uplift! Great stuff.

He bought out SISU - that will have cost him £££££££s. They used to levy charges on the club, as well as harming the balance sheet with interest charges. If he has put us back on an even keel, I think it's a bit unfair to start asking him where his 'further millions' are. If he gets us operating on a relatively sustainable basis, I'll be happy (obviously we hope that leads to on the pitch success). If MR is happy with him, and optimistic, that'll do for me, for now.Because you may as well have one of us in charge if the owner doesn’t wish to spend their own money. Why should an owner inject his own money? If he gives Robins money from sales etc, surely that’s an improvement on the last lot.So is the plan again to be owned by someone who doesn’t want to actually inject funds?
We signed most of our team on the back of money gained from sales? Why should an owner inject his own money? If he gives Robins money from sales etc, surely that’s an improvement on the last lot.
And Robins was always going to say things are still tight,he doesn’t want anyone to know he has money to spend.

I think you are counting the paper losses rather than the cash flowPlayer sales have been used to fund the squad for years - Sisu have had to borrow around £4m per annum to stay in existence since promotion - where is that coming from now?
I'm assuming the loan has gone , but you're going to say its not which is fantasticPlayer sales have been used to fund the squad for years - Sisu have had to borrow around £4m per annum to stay in existence since promotion - where is that coming from now?

I don’t expect him to pump in silly money. But if the plan is to put in nothing above what the club makes, you may as well have it fan run. Most owners do put in something extra each season at our level and above.

I for the moment will give him a chance. However from the minute he “took over” I’ve had the nagging feeling that this is no more than SISU 2
Of course they areIm sure Sisu are still around in some form or other
