Robins talking about fans being angry (3 Viewers)

The one thing I will say on this is:

Can anyone tell me the last time Robins faced up to a fan/the fans?

Failing that, can anyone tell me the last time Robins even got as close to the fans as the nearest player?

Something ain’t right; either personally or professionally and he’s blown. I know what Saddle has said previously, we don’t know that as fact but it’d explain things slightly.

Losing a parent is painful, but a natural progression in life.
Unlike losing a child which is not , and is luckily something I have never had to deal with ( he says touching wood).
Maybe I am just old school. But If you lose a parent when you are a mature adult, I think it’s something you should expect to happen and be prepared to deal with.
I lost both my parents a while ago it’s painful , but life has to go on.
You have a family to look after, and work to go to.
The world has gone soft death happens, deal with it and move on.

I said it elsewhere but his interview was telling yesterday and on a personal level he probably needs some time out of the game to spend time with his family and get his head together.

“It’s not life or death he says, there’s more important things going on in the world” 😂
He’s absolutely spot on. How would people cope if there was no social media. Easy. There are more important things than football. It used to be a case of moaning on the way home, moan again on Monday morning and then get on with life.

Everyone deals with grief differently.

Some people are simply not that close to their parents, some have barely known them, some can’t stand at least one of them. Some, even in middle age have hardly left home and spend a huge amount of time with them. Not sure what category Robins falls into but if he is that grief stricken then he should probably take some time out from a pressure job .

It's just a strange thing to come out with as a highly paid manager of an underperforming football team.
Can't imagine any business manager coming out with anything similar.

Exactly. Some can just carry on like nothing has happened and others can just crumble.

We are all different and all react differently to grief and death etc.

My mum died and I just carried on (we were very, very close). My missus (now my ex), when her mum died, she didn't stop crying for 3 months.

To be fair robins hasn’t mentioned it and it was leaked on here which is a bit tasteless.

Now there is speculation about if it’s impacting his performance.

I actually don’t think we should really be discussing it at all

Yeah, fair point and I agree.

I think if it’s relevant and this is at the heart of the problem right now then its fair game to acknowledge the issue as an event that could be affecting our manager.

I agree somewhat, but for his benefit and (selfishly) ours, I would hate for him to lose his job if that is the reason.

I think all of us would be happy for him to take as much time as needs

No joke, not being hard or uncaring either.
People in this country are too protected from death today.
Even the word is avoided.
People say passed away, passed on, have lost someone.
People die every day and new life is born every day. Life goes on.
Mourn the dead and rejoice the living, unless you want to dwell in the past.
One of the best phrases ever is,pull yourself together and get on with it.

sorry but I respectfully disagree- massively.

“stiff upper lip”, “life goes on”, “big boys don’t cry” is rubbish. Anyone can grieve the way they want to and you have no right to judge how anyone processes loss.

I think it’s always easier said than done though to move on.

We don’t know Robins from a personal life and don’t know how important these relationships are to him. Losing your parents is one of the hardest times in anyone’s life imo.

Add that on to running a professional football team and you’ve got a recipe for a shite time.

If only it was that simple to pull yourself together and get on with it.
Out of context I know but I've struggled with my mental health for decades and I've heard it said' pull yourself together' often.
I've learnt to work through it telling myself that I'm not always going to feel as bad as I do right now, fortunately for me it works
But death is something quite different, it's final there's no coming back and you can't put a time line on dealing with the loss of someone you care about.
I do agree the word death is avoided and I've asked my wife should I die before her to never say he's passed away, passed on etc. I've died, I'm dead, final and ask only that people who care about me pray that I find light happiness and peace.

Yeah. If anything has happened he's chosen to keep it private so that should be respected.

Isn't it fans speculating that we aren't doing very well due to his personal loss?

not that I’ve seen. It’s just another thing going on along with the lack of experience, Viveash going clearly having an effect, strikers unable to finish etc

You’re hell bent on saying that people are “making excuses” and you want Robins gone- that’s your opinion and fine, but I don’t see that people are saying it’s solely down to one particular thing like personal issues- we’re doing really badly and Robins is the one carrying the can at the end of the day, nobody is saying otherwise, but in my view there is more than just one thing going on that’s causing all this.

This is some of the most tone-deaf daft shit I've seen posted on here in a while. Let me guess you're also a big fan of the phrase "Just man up" too?

I wish the real world and actually dealing with those emotions healthily was as simple as the inside of your head.

You are saying a lot on every fucking thread without saying anything.

It's fucking weird.

You will be posting 100000 times about the chef putting too much sugar and not enough protein in the meals next.

you literally just posted some inane babble implying that people want to give them a gold medal for losing- weird stuff.

I’m saying Robins should stay, I’ve pointed out what I think is going wrong and I’m not deflecting away from Robins being accountable.

All you are doing is trying to deflect with the non stop, bullshit posts over and over in every thread.

You will be silent in the match thread but then just jump in with hindsight quoting people through the game as if you get points.

Deflect from what? I think Robins should stay, he doesn’t have long to start a turnaround and I don’t feel it’s the case that he’s simply lost it, a few things are going on. Not too sure what that’s deflecting against.

I think I’m falling into the trap of SBT reacting to individual results now……
If we lose tonight I drop a few more percentage points towards change now, as ‘PUSB’ pointed out, this poor run of overall form has gone on for months now and is becoming too accepted.
If we win however and play well….. We have a drink and move on to the next game 🤦‍♂️
