Which it hasn't. We all know footy is different to any other business.

I bet he's earning a hell of a lot more than he did here and will ultimately be financially rewarded whether he's successful or not.

They're not known for their patience, I doubt Robins will be afforded any more time than the previous managers.

If he doesn't hit the ground running and make real progress he'll be gone.

They've finished between 14th and 17th for the last six seasons though, so I don't think he'll be expected to get them promoted first time of asking, but if he could take them to 10-12th I think that'd be a very solid job.

I think for me the issue isn't robins , he's shown many times over through different variations of nonsense that he can have us playing well and improving .. be it coaches , stadia , training ground issues , financial issues , ownership issues etc etc

The fact fans can't see that is part of the reason why we all still argue so much

Agreed. And personally I'd of given him more time.
However there's no denying that the loss of Dennis Lawrence, and the fall out between MR and AV had resulted in us going backwards in terms of on field results...

...Along with some very questionable transfer dealings, and Doug's desire to shake up the non playing staff, and take the club in his own direction.

Maybe (in hindsight) the changes were too many too soon?

Anyway it looked difficult to see how MR could continue under the circumstances, so a parting at this time was probably the best for all.

I’d have given him until the end of the season but the poor start (again) did it for him. There’s pressure there that we haven’t had for a very long time. After the Everton game I thought we’d easily be in contention for the playoffs from the start.

I just said

Last season we had 15 points after 15 games with adi and Lawrence

We sacked robins for being on 15 points after 14 games .

So really the logic of Dennis and adi being the only thing that made robins tick isn't there

I do disagree with this considering he leaked the transfer news of King backing Lampard with Experience and Loans and seemingly listening to his new head coach.

Can’t keep saying it, people are human will hear things and get their own opinions on it. If you choose to take a rumor to heart or other people do that’s up to them. Grain of salt for all of them.

Although @Saddlebrains if you could leak a transfer name…

Can't agree with that, yes we started poorly last season, but there was the belief that it would improve, and it did, to such an extent that we were in the play off race and a cup semi final when DL left.

Can you in all honesty say that the same belief was in the camp this year???

I can't!

I think MR was the head of a very competent management team that worked well together.

Once that was broken up, the writing was on the wall. A bit like Brian Clough and Peter Taylor.

I'm not taking anything away from MR, but it was a joint management team effort imo.
And I don't know if he had much of a say in the new training staff.

The only reason some didn't think it would improve was that we didn't have the same setup .. but all the stats pointed towards an upturn in form at some point and as with Frank since his arrival the easiest fixtures were to come

I still think he’s technically donkey/shit and not sold on him. He’s had 6 decent games since August, don’t bash the bishop too hard.

FairPlay for his contributions in a really poor team in the last 6 games.

But MR dismissal wasn't purely based on results alone, it was his reluctance to recruit a no2 which left him "exposed" according to DK, and you can imagine DK getting frustrated, watching poor performances with no assistant on the horizon despite interviewing strong candidates. And I imagine MR reluctance to embrace Doug's plans didn't help.
(That last bit only my opinion)

Doug the Dickhead gave a legendary manager after 7.5 years of service, 14 games to prove he could manage without AV.

This theory that Robins can only work with AV, some bibs and cones is nothing more than a theory as ample time wasn’t given, in the name of a Tory appointing another Tory.

Doug King apologists are as low as SISU/Wasps Apologists.

How many other club owners are listening to, and believing, King's monologue about Robins on a CWR fans forum?

Would suggest far more potential for damage to Robins professional reputation if he decided to get into a back and forth in the press, which to me would be a very unexpected way for Robins to act at the best of times let alone with something like this.

And that's before you even consider the potential for a NDA.

Doug said all the number 2s that were interviewed wanted to be number 1s so it sounded like doing didn't want to bring in the 2

King the emotional toff boy couldn’t handle he had to face questions in the Fans Forum and tried to cause massive damage to Robin’s future prospects, throwing him under the bus.

Why would he need to sue though.

Mark sets out a personal statement saying it’s bollocks and all of Doug’s support would melt away.

Seeing how important he viewed it that he explained it to avoid less attendance and get people back on side, why would he risk it?
He doesn't, and it would appear that MR has taken the pragmatic approach and moved on, and good on him for doing that. I'm sure the challenge of turning things round at Stoke will keep him busy enough, with the added incentive of bettering his old club. He'd surely get far more satisfaction from that than a long-drawn out court case.

As far as I know, MR isn't intending to take legal action, so he obviously doesn't agree. Given his appointment at Stoke, the "stuff" doesn't seem to have affected his reputation unduly.

I hope Robins’ solicitor demanded double the pay off after Doug’s Fans Forum disaster.

Scoffing Tory Doug deserves it.

Form was the same as the previous two seasons. Before you try and say the full calendar year stats, Tory Doug demanded a cup run and more than got one - despite adding no quality to the deck in January to facilitate.

Dunno how I feel about it tbh, he doesn’t owe us anything but the “Gutted to leave, I want a break” thing didn’t last very long tbh

Just a weird situation the whole carry on tbh, I’ll be glad when this season over and the new manager can put his own stamp on things and we can just forget about it

How can you move forwards if you don’t learn from the history? We’ll be looking upwards at Stoke City come May.

King has cunted the moving forwards and feel good since him and his ego pitched up.
