It's so funny because I'm certain you could go back 12 months and see exactly the same thread as this when we lose to Cardiff.

Months later, he took us within a toe of beating Manchester United to get to an FA Cup final.

It took the players a while to gel last season and it may take the coaches some time this year.

I've always been critical of Robins' tactics and still think he's poor with substitutions but he's also made progress in many areas of his management. He's adapted whenever needed. He's gone from working with nothing to playing in another city. Robins now has ample resources and it's the next step in his evolution.

Think after the next 5 league games he may be gone as I can't see us beating any of Watford, Swansea z Leeds, Blackburn and Boro.

We've been here before.

People (including me tbf) were saying we'd struggle last December when we played all the big boys like Leeds, Southampton and Sunderland away and then went unbeaten until Feb😂

I’m bored of the ‘gelling’ excuse to be honest

Because we have forward players that require ages to get upto speed and squad has improved making team selection harder, robins has made a few mistakes

it’s not how you start it’s how you finish
I’m afraid this season our finish is going to be much much worse than our start if we don’t sort out this mess. We always had a reason for our slow starts like pitch debacle, gelling etc. I don’t think we have a valid excuse this season.

No because that was a legitimate excuse at the time

We've got an entire new backroom staff and 5 players played today who weren't here a few months back.

Of course, it's a simple excuse and no one wants to hear it but there has once again been a sizeable restart again this season.

Besides an entire new set of coaching staff and our best player and captain being injured?

I'll admit that you're a twat
Great argument. My football knowledge is far superior to yours, the IRA apologist David O’Dickhead and basically everyone else that had a go at me yesterday. Jamie Allen changed the game when he came on didn’t he

How long do we keep peddling out this excuse? We have spent a lot of money on recent windows, we shouldn’t be this shit

We've played a few games this season 😅

Looking forward to our first third round game against Tottenham in two weeks.

The missing ingredient is clearly Sheaf. Even then, I remember having plenty of discussion last season about missing Hamer and apparently Eccles and Torp were good enough to step up. In fact, in preseason Allen was good enough.

There was a complete denial of how off the pace our midfield was in preseason and I hope that MR and his recruitment team saw that in preseason. Yet, I’m not sure whist is worst: either we knew we needed a CM and chose not to get one, or that we felt Torp, Eccles, Sheaf and Allen was enough.

There’s still time to turn things around but the midfield and defensive performances this season have been depressing already. Made all the more worse because we’re packed with talented forwards.

Some of our best football in the last two seasons has been without Sheaf or O'Hare. The form and results statistics clearly show this.

This is all reactionary nonsense due to a slow start to the season, and the notion that even the tea lady poured the drinks faster when Sheaf came on the pitch earlier in the week is embarrasing.

We should have signed another midfielder but what we are seeing at the moment is down to application more than anything. The attitudes seem wrong to me. People wanking over their favourites that aren't on the pitch at the CBS is getting boring and historically not accurate either.

Coaching staff were in place long before the season started. Rigorous preseason regime and games were put in place to ensure a fast start mirroring Leicester’s success. We looked great in preseason and everyone seemed to know their roles. We’ve played very often without Sheaf in the lineup because he’s injured more often than not and still won games and also least put in competent performances.

Why are we always looking for excuses instead of looking in the mirror? Heckingbottom walked into a pathetic Preston team and turned things around immediately. Le Bries never coached in this league before and has Sunderland top of the league without their best player Jack Clarke. Corberan is working wonders after all the upheaval at WBA. Cifuentes is doing quite well at QPR on a small budget. What is wrong with us? That’s all I’m asking.

Tbf Preston lost today. The Championship is so unpredictable.

We've just had a bad start. We can pick apart absolutely everything like we did last year. It was a poor performance today but Robins has two weeks to work with them now and hope and pray our captain and best player is back.

Okay but I’m mainly concerned about performances. If you get performances up to par, the results should naturally follow. But performances have been beyond bad in so many games.

Are there any other clubs fans that start to question one of their greatest ever managers 4 games into a new season though ?

Seen some absolute guff on here and social media it's easy to see why fans of other clubs think our fans are fucking weirdos
