Are there any other clubs fans that start to question one of their greatest ever managers 4 games into a new season though ?

Seen some ansolute guff on here and social media it's easy to see why fans of other clubs think our fans are fucking weirdos
To be fair we have more than our fair share of idiots

This. Shame we've become so entitled. Clearly we didn't learn after all those years of negativity.

Explains why the atmosphere is shite these days. People expecting everything. Remember when we were backing the players for 90 minutes and all those late goals in 21/22?

Tbf Preston lost today. The Championship is so unpredictable.

We've just had a bad start. We can pick apart absolutely everything like we did last year. It was a poor performance today but Robins has two weeks to work with them now and hope and pray our captain and best player is back.
It's not that bad a start , it's a stuttery start sure .

4 points from 4 games isn't really the end of the world

Sheaf and O"Hare were integral to our best run of form last season from probably the Birmingham match up until the Stoke match.

Started going south with Robins having a funny turn with O'Hare

Amazing how right now it started going south when o hare was dropped , but last season it was because a small squad was being overworked and we had a great cup run adding to tiredness

I want pleased with the run in , but it wasn't because o hare was dropped

It started going wrong once Sakamoto got cropped against PNE, around February, if anything. COH's form fell away after January also.

I’m not sure it’s the results as much as the performances (mainly, certain parts of certain games excepted) and the lack of a plan B

plus it’s not being entitled, as much as having high expectations, built up by amongst other things the club itself, with Doug’s ‘prem in 5’ ‘play offs 3 out of 5’ patter

So , I'll ask again, what should happen?
Don’t let the players go on leave during the international break. Get to the root of the problem as to why we are “disjointed/disconnected” as MR has said on back to back weeks now. Start games with more urgency and on the front foot instead of waiting until we go a goal down to do that. Be much more compact and hard to break down and know to press teams effectively. Teams are just bursting through our ranks at will and with ease. Know how to defend set pieces and score from them. Our corners and free kicks are so wasteful.

It’s 11 vs 11 and we’ve played with much inferior squads and punched above our weight for many seasons. Now with an expensively assembled squad we look much weaker which makes no sense. I know we have deficiencies in midfield but we have to figure something out with what we have or get a free agent etc.

We've played a few games this season 😅

Looking forward to our first third round game against Tottenham in two weeks.

No dicksplash , what do you want to happen?
What a stupid question. I wanted us to actually strengthen areas of the pitch that needed it the most. If you can’t see the glaring deficiencies of the midfield then that says more about you than me

Becuase for years we’ve had a siege mentality - we enjoyed being the underdog with no expectations. We spent fuck all and we’re mixing it with the best.

now we’re stable, one of the biggest spenders in the league, the expectation has rightfully gone up and we’re playing worse than we did then.

we as a fan base almost seem to want to be the plucky underdog against the world. As I said in another thread. robins appears to be a great fire fighter - someone who drags that last ounce of talent out of journeymen - he’s in a different position to what he walked into 7 years ago - one he doesn’t appear comfortable with

We've not played a league game with our best midfielder yet .

As shit as we were today our main striker missed a banker 1st half and Wright doesn't square it to score another .

We lose to a deflection .

2nd half was poor , but I think fans are slightly overreacting , as they have done many times during robins tenure

I don’t claim to know more than Robins but I certainly know more than you. I really don’t like having to play this card but having been involved (and paid) in the game at a good level I speak from experience. You just spout happy clappy shite. Even Stevie Wonder could see we needed to sign a decent midfielder

We are 4 games into the season, last season he took expensive players to an fa cup semi final

People are just concerned at the basics not being there. For long spells in the second half it looked like the players didn't know what they were meant to be doing, more than one of them visibly frustrated with either his teammates or the bench. It had strong echoes of that grim away day also in Norwich a few seasons ago, but that was when we were selling Dom Hyam to pay for a pitch.

Maybe the upheaval to the backroom staff and coaches is having more of an impact than we thought?

It's so funny because I'm certain you could go back 12 months and see exactly the same thread as this when we lose to Cardiff.

Months later, he took us within a toe of beating Manchester United to get to an FA Cup final.

It took the players a while to gel last season and it may take the coaches some time this year.

I've always been critical of Robins' tactics and still think he's poor with substitutions but he's also made progress in many areas of his management. He's adapted whenever needed. He's gone from working with nothing to playing in another city. Robins now has ample resources and it's the next step in his evolution.
Last season was different. For one, performances on the whole were pretty good, just poor decisions/finishing and luck cost us

It was also a brand new squad. Not the case this year. Of the starters today, only two were new signings (one being the keeper).

I do not care if I am seen to be bedwetting, we lack quality in CM, and with O’Hare and Palmer now gone, we don’t have an out and out number 10, for a formation we clearly have recruited for. The midfield links everything together. You can get by having a shit defence by out scoring teams, vice versa with shit attacking options being defensive. But you will lose more matches than you win if you don’t win the midfield battle, that is a fact.

There were obviously attempts to do so which didn't come off. What else do you want the recruitment team to do ? Sign shit players to fill those positions and then be stuck with them ?

Ok sound the midfield are perfect, best in the league. Happy now?
We’ve only had 2 and a half windows to address it, no rush. Idiot

Wasn't the only reason and not even the main reason really you are right, although can't deny his replacement was overall less effective.

Was more making a point about how other posters were trying to say our best run of form came without them in the team

Ridiculous overreaction. I ask again . Would you be happy if we had signed anyone available to fill the midfield positions even if they weren't good enough ?
You have no clue regarding the process of signing players and neither do the rest of us. Why would I be happy with your final childish statement?

No, I just want us to back the team.

Atmosphere was pathetic today and it will get worse with all the negativity.

And I’m assessing properly after 10 games. ATM it’s looking it did last season.

What’s annoying me is the looking back at where we were a few years back. It’s ultimately irrelevant.

I’d also argue that the semi final was reasonably lucky. League One Oxford at home, bottom of the league Sheffield Weds and Maidstone pretty much meant we should have
Made the quarter final admittedly We were excellent against Wolves but that was the only game we weren’t arguably favourites

We have backed the team. 22k season ticket holders. What appeared today for the first time in a long time was a side that at times looked disinterested and like they were unsure as to what they were meant to do.

the past sides were running through brick walls for each other

I will be honest enough to say I just don't like possession based football...not as a hoofball merchant, but because you need far superior technical players than exist at Championship level to pull it off. Without that quality, you just get slow, ponderous football that allows the other team to get set in position in front of you. Luton's poor form to begin this season comes down to them trying this I think, and it just doesn't suit them either. Even Man City occasionally come unstuck doing it because it needs such high precision.

Got no problem with playing out from the back but the ball needs to get forward either from 1-2 touch passes, players carrying the ball themselves, or cross-field passes. That sort of stuff when combined with some off the ball movement is what creates openings and drags the opposition out of position. A few seasons ago, it's what we did and it was cracking to watch for the most part.

Shame we've become one of those clubs with big crowds but a depressing, quiet atmosphere.

We've got to play our part.

I agree with this.

We've got 3/4 big strikers and on the 94th minute we finally played a long ball up to Asante and Norwich looked petrified.

We have to mix it up.
