Wtf is an Offsider? Is it like a Huckerby or Bellamy?
Google is your friend. Or of course, you can take the piss if you like. Up to you.
I could even tell you, but I think people should learn as they get older. So, give google a go.

Or perhaps use words that 99.9%of people on here understand and are familiar with? We shouldn’t need to google obscure non-uk terminology.

non-uk terminology...and we all use the internet?...You're a Funny Man 🤣😂🤣
An Offsider, even by it's actual term, describes itself. Seriously mate..Not even your best mate ( or your offsider) will find a joke in that one.

Robins isn’t going to walk at any point. He has a 4 year contract on probably lucrative terms
I did say I wouldn't be surprised, being careful not to phrase it like many do on here, as if I can read the future.
But his target is now either 3 top 6 finishes in the next 4 seasons (including this one), or 2 in the next 3, depending on when the target was set. I think that puts him under a lot of pressure,
By the end of next season he could have already failed to meet that, and even by the end of this season it becomes massively difficult if we don't make the playoffs.
If we finish top 6 this year, things will obviously look much different, but I doubt MR would have much difficulty finding other well paid work given his CV over the last few years, if he decides he's had enough here.

I think Robins, just like anyone else who is seemingly being put under pressure, will become worried, and perhaps less responsive because of it.
I don't see how any Manager gets anything out of pressure but..pressure...
He's doing this on his own...and has anyone else noticed there has not been any deliberate attemp at all to get him a "Offsider" "Sidekick" "Left Hand Man", for those who might be limited in their thoughts.

To make the playoffs 3 times out of 5 is very challenging for any club without parachute payments. It's essential to have targets in any job but they have to be realistically achievable.
If we were to achieve 3 out of 5 but not get promoted would that then be viewed as failure?
It ultimately depends on MR's relationship with Doug, but I wouldn't be surprised if he decides himself to go at some point in this or next season.
The actual target was promotion in that time rather than just making the playoffs.

Think at this stage any talk of MR getting the sack should be binned or it may become a self fulfilling prophecy.
My take on the club is that DK has looked at successful Prem clubs and decided to follow their template. Frankly, that is good business practice, although innovation is sometimes better than imitation. Where it may go pear shaped (it is too early currently to judge), is having a revolution rather than evolution. Depends on the personnel.

How does “Offsider” describe itself, or anything, except perhaps a linesman/assistant referee?
Show me one article, commentary, thread (or anything else) showing “Offsider” as a term for a manager’s assistant in UK football context. It’s meaningless to most people on this board.

That is the kind of way bad information can get around,(Google that is) in truth?

I mean it's not a "war chest" but it will be interesting to see what occurs (This was posted in the unpopular opinion thread so don't stress) Screenshot_20240906_181537_Samsung Internet.jpg

Last season we finished 9th and got to the semi final of the cup after completely rebuilding the team. What even is this post? 😂

We’ve spent a lot of money, contextually, we’re still not competing at the top end of the table financially yet.

When Robins does eventually leave I think we will bring in a young continental manager, as we have a lot of different nationalities in the squad now

I’m not sure that having lots of different nationalities in the squad has any bearing on it at all, unless you can find a manager who’s simultaneously from lots of different countries at once

I think one of Robins’ strengths over the course of time (with us, at least) has been surrounding himself with the right people. Seems that has been taken out of his hands now, which will make things understandably more difficult.

Tactically he isn’t the best and a lot of our success in terms of playing style has almost been accidental, when a key player has got injured. He’s been very good at getting the squad mentality right over the course of time but I feel like we’re starting to see some of his deficiencies come to the fore. In fairness, as alluded to, some of those have been due to lost influence.
