Closet Charlton fan are we??
Depends what tactic we are going for.
So Andy Bothroyd should have bought him ?
Agreed, makes getting rid of Baker, a goal getting midfielder who can play centrally, a very strange one!Not enough goals or threat in the side. Especially with the 3-5-2 and 3 central midfielders who couldn't tell you what a goal is let alone score one.
I think we've won just once away from home in the league since Feb.

2 draws 3 defeats away from home , worrying away form tbh
We really did not look threatening today. Didn't look like scoring apart from Tudgays chance. It seems we like to pass pass pass but a lot of these are sideways or backwards. We've got pace in Jackson yet didn't thread him through at all.
We lost our only width by taking Haynes out, Pugh and Clarke don't suit the wing back positions.
Sounds like we didn't put in an quality crosses in all game according to reports. That is something Haynes brings to the side.

Pugh definitely needs a winger ahead of himThis is true. Don't recall any decent cross that made us 'ooooh'! And there was atleast one good opportunity where Pugh was on the edge of the box and looked lost and no idea what to do with the ball! If he plays, I think he has to play on a flat back 4
We need proper wing backs if we are going to persist with 532, the only full back who is suited for wing back is Haynes.
He struggles defensively
It's really difficult. Even with Jackson and nouble I can't see them being as prolific as Clarke and Wilson. Last season we were conceding pretty 1.8 goals per game even with Clarke and Wilson meaning (law of averages) you have to score 2 just to get a point. That was ok when we had 2 prolific strikers.
If we go to a 442, then I don't think our back 4 is any stronger than last season, and we'd go back to a defensively weak central midfield partnership (fleck and Thomas), you'd assume then coubily and one of o'brien/Swanson on either wing. I can't see it working.
