Rose unhappy? (3 Viewers)

I think we should offer Rose a new contract, it'd be risky not to given we have only one other contracted centre back. There are elements of his game which can be better but he's another one who gets a lot of unfair criticism imo.

How do we improve the quality of the squad though? I'm genuinely interested in your views on this.

You want to give Rose a new contract, Walker and Dabo too. I just can't see how retaining most of these kind of players helps us to move forward.

You said Gyokeres was as bad as Biamou.

But we're not talking about Biamou. You're deflecting as usual.

Do you think Rose is better than McNally?

I have answered your question - sorry you’ve had a mare the last couple of days @Deleted member 5849 had your pants down yesterday and you still offered Astute levels of denial

When in all seriousness no one on here even notices you as a poster why bother? Your a student of Captain Hindsight and terrified of offering an opinion that’s not backed up by others.

Boring as fuck really

Like Dabo his biggest issue is regular visits to the treatment table - no one really has said Walker gets a contract and he won’t

You actually wasted your time starting threads about me which created a handful of responses and one fell flat on its arse

There certainly are no toys out of the pram - it would take too much effort

I just think your an idiot and boring and a mediocre contributor to this forum . Sorry that’s my verdict and with respect it’s not me or you that decides if that’s a fair representation of your - in my view - rather dull attempts at gratification and gaining likes above any worthwhile contribution on here

I couldn't give a fuck what you think about me 😂

You have some of the most absurd posts on here yet your whole MO is to dig posts up from people's pasts to make them look silly. A bizarre existence.

Well it isn’t my whole MO is it and again sadly ironic from your own behaviour

Rose certainly has ability and according to the squad, is one of our quickest players. His performance against Southampton shows what he can do on his day. As some have said before he can lack aggression, so not a Fadz replacement. I think we need to keep him though as we are not going to have loads of money to bring in much better.

We've got a gap: Panzo, Doyle and McNally are not ours. It'd be silly to release one of only two substantive centre backs when we don't even have enough on the books to play our preferred formation, especially one that's proved to be up to this level.

How are we going to drastically improve an already small squad by drastically reducing its numbers? The wage bill isn't suddenly going to skyrocket under King.

If we had the money available and were serious about progressing, there’s probably only about 5 of the current squad I’d keep.

Unfortunately, we’re unlikely to have significantly more money next season.

The current squad has got us to 3 points off the play offs.
There's plenty of them who'll be fine if we want to progress, what they need is supplementing with another 3 or 4 quality players.

We're never going to be able to compete with the parachute payment teams so realistically we're aiming for 5th or 6th place and we're not too far away.

That's probably a bit over the top if we've managed to get to 8th. I don't think we'd be in the playoff hunt if we had 15 sub standard players.

If we want to push for autos then yeah there's probably 5 or so players good enough for that, and we'd need some quality additions in the first XI.

Which is why I said serious about progressing, which would mean the aim would be going for automatic promotion rather than the play-offs.

That's pretty unrealistic though on our crowds and trying to compete with parachute payments.

I'm sure Robins is trying to get us as high up the league as we can but if we start trying to compete with the relegated teams in terms of wages we'll get ourselves in trouble.

That's not to say Robins couldn't have been backed more, he should have been, let's hope King has a plan to do that.

With a basement budget he’s got us into mid table at least. With a mid table or even just lower half budget I have no doubt we’d be in play off contention.

You have a fair point regarding the wage bill, but if we lose Vik in the summer, which there is a very good chance of, our team gets a whole lot weaker. He's scored half of our goals more or less. We would need to strengthen just to get back up to where we are now.

There's too many underperforming players in the squad that are also on first team wages, but playing secondary roles. This has been a discussion for a while now. To just give them new contracts, to me at least, seems like a rather clumsy decision.

If we kept our 5 best players and replaced the other 15 players with 15 better players we'd win the league.

We're a team that is better than the sum of our parts, I think 2 or 3 quality additions to this team (plus O'Hare) would have us challenging the top 3. Sadly we'll never know.

We have got the best striker in the league though

where would we be without him

Struggling, plenty on here say he will be sold, some he should be sold but replacing him would be a mammoth task, get him signed up Doug.

It's not a question of whether McNally is better than Rose, which so far I think he is or at least will be.

The question is whether replacing Rose with an unknown player is a good use of whatever funds we might have next transfer window.

If we push Rose out then on day 1 of the transfer window our only experienced CB will be McFadz.

I would prefer to retain Rose and concentrate our resources on the more obvious gaps in the quad that are likely to need filling

Think Rose should be offered a contract. Injuries have stalled his progress, but if the management team feel those problems are behind him then sign him up. Looked fine coming on as a sub in recent games. MR doesn't change a winning team very often, only where injury or tiredness is a problem. Rose has been unlucky that the incumbents are doing really well. Football is a squad game and most of our defenders are loan signings.
