Hopefully we get a little more composure and control of the ball mainly in midfield and generally across the team which I think was below our usual standard vs Rochdale.
1-0. Walsh with the goal.

Lineup:
Marosi
Rose McFadzean Hyam
Dabo Walsh Kelly McCallum
Allen O'Hare
Godden

This is going to be brutal. Would stick Baka and Biamou up front to give the defenders some big targets to aim for. Rotherham are the most aggressive pressing team in L1, it's how they scored against us last time, so we will be going long a lot more than normal.

They also score a lot from set pieces so those two can help defend them as well.

It looks like they havent been doing that well against the top sides in the division. I think them beating us was an exception rather than the rule.

Home advantage and recent form will definetly be a plus for us.

They've got a fair few units in their side so the priority is we need to make sure we don't allow ourselves to get bullied. We often seem to struggle against the more physical sides so we need to play for fouls and break up play whenever we can. Plus, given their physical presence, there's zero point in playing the long ball either as 9 times out of 10 we'll just gift the ball back to them.

Anyone know if the Birmingham Wheels Car Park will be open for this?
I doubt it. We tried to park there for the Bolton game. The entrance to Wheels was closed so we had to find some street parking. I think that Wheels' lease has finished, or something like that.

I really like the idea of playing Bakayoko and Biamou up front.
Godden will be bullied out of the game. He can come on as a sub if needed.
The key to this one will be taking our (few) chances, which we aren't particularly good at.
Nevertheless, I'm going for a 2-1 win.

Surely if there's going to be very few chances we're going to need our best finisher on the pitch? Equally, will Bakayoko fair any better in terms of getting bullied? He's shown time and again that if a CB roughs him up slightly he'll completely shrink from a game.

We all know full well that Richard Wood rarely takes any prisoners and adding his experience into the mix it's more likely the key to creating chances isn't going toe to toe in a physical battle with their back line but instead relying on quality.

Plus, if anything I think it's more likely our CB's are going to be the one's that are at risk of getting bullied anyway. Smith, Crooks and Lapado (who's likely to come on later in the game) are going to be a nightmare to handle and keep a lid on.

Shipley will start tomorrow
MR see's him as more physical than OHare or Westbrooke.

Shipley is bigger and stronger and better in the air than Ohare and Westbrooke. But hes definitely not more physical than Ohare.

Shipley like Westbrooke shirk too many 50/50s. But I see your point.

For any other game id stick with Godden up front and Allen in midfield, but he doesn't really help the defense with set pieces.

My starting X!

Marosi
Dabo, Rose, McFadz, Hyam, MacCallum
Kelly , Walsh
Baka, Biamou, Ohare

Whichever way we go, we have the squad depth to change it without weakening.

Godden is our best striker by a distance - whenever he’s fit he starts

Taking him out of the team because you think another player is better at defending set pieces is bizarre

Just because you think Biamou and Baka add nothing else...lol

You obviously don't rate them. I think they offer a lot more.

Thats your level of thinking.

You have proposed dropping a striker who’s scored 7 more league goals than any other forward option and has been part of a 5 game winning run for someone who is supposedly better at defending corners

There’s a reason why Godden starts every game. We want a striker who’s our best option to score a goal - not defend corners

Calm down. Goddens only scored 2 league goals at St Andrews (probably the only goals you seen him score live). The same amount in the league as Biamou and Bakayoko have at home.

Yes Godden is our best striker, but he's hardly prolific at home.

In saying that he is imo our best striker but that doesn't mean we don't use our squad.

We came nowhere near to selling out Rochdale and we've only sold 750 for Ipswich.

Rotherham are a much smaller club than us, 1000 or them is a top following on a Tuesday.

It is decent. Bear in mind prices are as cheap as you will get. Almost double for Ipswich.

We still sell out Ipswich. We took almost 500 there midweek in fa cup replay
