Agree. Eccles does a good job of breaking up opposition play and ticking things over, you need a midfielder like that. But we’re playing a slow possession game and there rarely seems to be a pass on, so we play it simple and give them ever more time to settle deep. Allen, COH, maybe Saka, move play forwards and move about dragging players around which opens up space to play into. We need at least one of those 3 on the pitch to add a bit of energy and flair.Eccles isn't the problem , it's the lack of zip and pace in front of him . That's why we miss Allen , O'Hare and even Palmer ahead of him
When I say needs a rest I mean putting back on the bench. As an impact player sometimes he changes things up but shouldn't be starting. How many minutes has Ayari played to need a rest. He needs dropping from the squad and sent back to the sea side.
Tbf even Gus would have that issue a couple of corners per game.Quite a few don’t even beat the first man.
It is annoying me how Wright and Simms are expected to be better than Vic and Gyok because they cost more when they cost a fraction of their final value.I think you're missing the point, we're comparing the team Robins had at the end of last season - just before Vik and Gus were sold - to the team Robins has now. This team - value wise according to purchase and sale price - is worth £15 mil less than that team. So essentially he should have a worse team on his hands now. Also add to the fact that he had multiple loan signings, which were worth a lot combined, so you would also have to add that onto the value of the team towards the end of last season. We're not comparing this team to when Gus and Vik were first signed on permanent deals. If you're going to go down that road then at least be accurate about it.
Yes 4-0 wouldn’t have flattered them.We weren't played off the park, were we?

Would be good to be at biamou and bakayoko level!!It is annoying me how Wright and Simms are expected to be better than Vic and Gyok because they cost more when they cost a fraction of their final value.
Two of the best players in this league who have rightly stepped up a level.
not expected to be as good - just competent at this level. They should at least be as good as 32 year old Matty GoddenIt is annoying me how Wright and Simms are expected to be better than Vic and Gyok because they cost more when they cost a fraction of their final value.

We are Cov fans. The fact we are posting on here at midnight shows we are venting our frustration and at times overreacting. I guess that’s the human condition.
Yeah, apart from all of the saves their keeper madeYes 4-0 wouldn’t have flattered them.

When we play actually decent opposition on Monday it could be quite embarrassing. It was noticeable that when COH & Tats came on there was a lot more movement. Prior to that the build up play was slow and predictable because there was little effort from players further forward to run into any space . A lot of work is needed also to improve Simms first touch and for a big bloke he's knocked off the ball too easily. I am not saying that we should expect to get another Hamer but there is no midfield player capable of picking the pass and backing it up by getting up the pitch quickly .
On a different note the Cov support in the ground was excellent getting right behind the team. Shame that effort wasn't reciprocated by some of the players on the pitch Worrying to think that Rotherham are actually a poor side.
Very true. Something has to change as I think performance levels are deteriorating each gameWhen we play actually decent opposition on Monday it could be quite embarrassing.
Haven’t lost at home yet so if the bottlers are lacking confidence already, they haven’t yet felt how toxic the home crowd can be towards a rank performance. Good job Sakamoto has learned some swear words anyway.Very true. Something has to change as I think performance levels are deteriorating each game
Is he an impact player? And if so, is that a positive or negative impact? When I say needs a rest I mean putting back on the bench. As an impact player sometimes he changes things up but shouldn't be starting.

Had a positive impact coming on in a few games few good shots one to set up Wright? Is he an impact player? And if so, is that a positive or negative impact?
They choose to roll over against shite like Rotherham so they’ll get their arses handed to them by West Brom.Going to be toxic if they don’t put in a shift at the next game, that’s for sure.
We do a hybrid of Zonal and man marking. The centre backs do zonal marking. We didn't it a lot last season.Seemed for the first goal, I was wondering why Eccles and Godden were marking, runners, I mean the guy actually knows th it runs to make, were our defenders marking space again?
Sounds like a fancy way of asking the lads to do whateverWe do a hybrid of Zonal and man marking. The centre backs do zonal marking. We didn't it a lot last season.

Really? What about the two Simms chances? One of which their keeper made a great save from?I don’t recall seeing any very good chances. Plenty for them though.
Well that's not true, because we've mainly played with the box, not 2 upfront.Well it did us good for over 200 matches , I reckon losing 4 in 13 isn't going to switch it permanently just yet
No....we were really badSorry but Rotherham were very good second half.
None as good as what the opposition created.Really? What about the two Simms chances? One of which their keeper made a great save from?
You didn't see any?
We did have a number of them.
Simms' headed chance was a great chance.None as good as what the opposition created.
We were indifferent but Rotherham worked really hard.No....we were really bad
They really did. They sniffed blood and just harried and chased everything down.We were indifferent but Rotherham worked really hard.
Good, but not a sitter.Simms' headed chance was a great chance.
We had an xG of 2.12, to Rotherham’s 1.36. Doesn’t change the result of course, but you’re just making things up at this point.None as good as what the opposition created.
You had your mind made up the moment he signed.
He was decent in the first half and poor in the second. Certainly not alone in that respect.
He's better than Bidwell and the manager agrees.
Your track record on wing backs recently is less than impressive. How's Todd Kane getting on?
Worryingly I got the impression that a few of ours looked like they couldn't give a shit at the end and COH was trying to instigate some extra effort from them. They really did. They sniffed blood and just harried and chased everything down.
It is possible to accumulate a high xG without creating anything clear cut.We had an xG of 2.12, to Rotherham’s 1.36. Doesn’t change the result of course, but you’re just making things up at this point.
