Your obsession with Bidwell is weird. I think he is a decent player but we now have two players who can play lwb that are better than him. This position is not a problem and frankly any of the three would be ok. None of them are exactly Todd Kane.I think you will find my views on him are pretty tame compared to most on here. Take it up with the other dissenters
Yes the manager agrees. He also seems to think his £4 million centre half isn’t good enough either and his £7 million striker isnt as good as a 32 year old
Problem is it’s all down to the players from here on in. I think after that performance the atmosphere will be dead on Monday, unless we see a massive change in how we play.
I’m not sure these players have the mental strength to do it with a muted crowd.
YawnWhen we play actually decent opposition on Monday it could be quite embarrassing.
Not at all, again you're missing the point. When we sold Bayliss for over a million more than the perceived value of the player coming in, we shouldn't have automatically expected the team to be better at that time - and I certainly didn't. I can't even remember whether Hamer immediately made the team better TBH.
That's just wrong. The fans got right behind the players or was I at a different game ?Fans in the crowd need to get behind them though. The atmosphere in the away end last night was nothing short of embarrassing. One song all game.
I think that’s a good thing tbh, I have more faith in O’Hare, Sheaf, Saka, Ayari and Allen scoring than any of Simms, Godden or Wright. If you're suggesting going back to the box, then I think we will have to rely on the midfielders scoring, as having one striker whether it be Simms/Wright or Godden worries me where the goals are coming from

Hamer scored 5 goals very quickly on arrival
The squad has been strengthened all over in theory with significant expenditure and the wage bill will be far higher. Wright is paid more than Gyokeres as will Simms.
We’ve spent more on a centre half than I can ever remember. The defence is an expensive defence. So it’s better than last seasons?
Problem is that the players bounced off that and fired us up. Half of this lot look shell shockedThe atmosphere was awful.
The whole, non-stop atmosphere created in the past 3/4/5 years has completed died off. Not having the drum was an issue but it's more about the mentality of the fans at the games this season.
The midfield 4 has to be sheaf Eccles Allen and o hare
4 players who know how we play and will give their all for the shirt.
Back to what we know, the two full backs who are ok, and Lati and 2 others at the backI would maybe swap Saka in and out for Eccles and Allen over the course, but would agree.
Valuations bandied about by who? You’re now just plucking figures out of thin air. At one point Everton wanted 8m for Simms. At one point Van Ewijk was 7mThe value of the defence last season, is likely higher than the value of the defence this season - even if those clubs (Burnley/Man City) haven't sold the players, there certainly were some valuations bandied about.
Even if Wright is paid more than Gyokeres, when was Gyokeres's contract (hence wage) negotiated?

Doesn’t help that we’ve signed players who from what I’ve seen, don’t relate to that mantra eitherHence why we need more noise from the fans. The whole mentality of the club has changed.
We need the 'us against the world' approach again.
Tbf not all players do well off the bench

Problem is we don’t have that adversity. The squad were running through brick walls. We saw the deck was stacked against them.Hence why we need more noise from the fans. The whole mentality of the club has changed.

And then after the disaster of the transfer window we’ve had - do you trust Robins with any significant funds?I think it’s a fan delusion that their favourites are all great in training and Robins just hates them rather than Occams Razor suggesting they’re not impressing at all and the manager knows what he’s doing.
We’ve had calls for players loads and invariably they show why they weren’t being picked.
Rhe problem isn’t Dasilva, it’s not Eccles, it’s not even Wright and Simms. The problem is the mentality of the squad as a whole and a massive lack of quality in the progressive midfield roles. Annoyingly both will probably remain that way until at least January.

now we have autonomy over the pitch and stadium, we’re not scratting around for scraps looking to prove themselves.
it reminds me of Sunderland in the Roy Keane days. He commanded the respect of Sunderland and got them playing, as soon as they got to the premier league - signed players like El Hadj Diouf and the fear/respect for Keane had gone.
Back to what we know, the two full backs who are ok, and Lati and 2 others at the back
sheaf Eccles Allen and o hare is decent enough and know how we play
Any figure they want - judging by the 7.7m we paid for Wright we’re suckersWhat would McNally, Doyle, Panzo, BNC, and JWE cost to buy permanently do you reckon?
Lati and 2 othersThis has been repeated by a few posters as well, I'd really like to see a fixed back 3 - whoever they are - actually getting a run of games. I've had enough of this chopping and changing at the back.
7.7 millionAny figure they want - judging by the 7.7m we paid for Wright we’re suckers
But again - that was the SISU v Us days, and the days we were homeless and the EFL were threatening expulsion and points deductions. We've had far worse teams and made lots more noise.
The simple fact is, we've gained a lot of fans home and away this year and they aren't as vocal.
Back in the League 1/2 days, we'd lose against pub sides and the fans would be up for it and making noise.

I hope he does. I’ve seen fleeting moments of attributes that suggest he should be a good footballer. Same as Bakayoko though - another who had attributes to be good but just wasn’tI don't think anyone has actually said Wright is worth £7.7 mil, I mean it would be very difficult to back that opinion based on his performances so far. But I do hope that he gets there eventually.
I’ve said it before, Hamer leaving shows the disasterous planning we had.Yes. Because I don’t think it’s that bad. I think what’s fucked is is Hamer leaving. It’s ripped the heart out the side.
I think Robins didn’t realise exactly how quiet the new signings were until they were in the building and things like Dabo going kaput, along with Cal injured and Gus leaving means huge characters gone and none replacing them. That could be fixed with only one or two right signings in Jan, look at what Marty James did do a similar powderpuff squad first year up.
Whoever recommended Wright and Simms should never darken out doorstep again though. Neither look like they’ve played the game before. My back wall has a better first touch.
I think it has a lot to do with more families going now than back in the L1/2 days which lets be honest was blokes on the piss visiting grounds they had never been before. Last night and at Bristol i was surrounded by families which is great and i love the fact we're bringing so many young fans through again but this is the reason for the lack of atmosphere. We've had far worse teams and made lots more noise.

Funny, I remember the atmosphere in L1 and L2 being total shit. The simple fact is, we've gained a lot of fans home and away this year and they aren't as vocal.

with Gyokeres there was a plan for his departure - it was Wright and Simms (bad plan but at least it was a plan)
with Hamer it’s like it caught them off guard - they should have had plans in place with the expectation he was off as soon as we lost in the play offs
