But the question that the EFL are seemingly ignoring is why do Rotherham have 25 cases when all other EFL clubs have now gone weeks without a single case between all 71 of them?
They're obviously doing something differently.
That's the question isn't it. There's supposed to be procedures in place to stop this spreading if a club has one or two cases and that seems to have worked at every other club. It could just be bad luck but you'd expect it to be looked at even if only to be able to advise other clubs on additional precautions that might be needed. But the question that the EFL are seemingly ignoring is why do Rotherham have 25 cases when all other EFL clubs have now gone weeks without a single case between all 71 of them?

I thought the EFL was investigating?
Anyway - it obviously looks really bad. I would guess they messed up on protocols and/or someone acted out. But without knowing what the day-to-day protocols are, it's not impossible that Rotherham just got really, really unlucky. And you have to assume that no club is totally immune.
No shock there then EFL are clownsNope. Reported in the Rotherham local press that there would be the standard questions surrounding any postponement but the EFL had no plans to investigate further as they were "happy".

Was on BBC news this evening for some reason town of Rotherham are suffering high cases of covid way above country average
I thought they were looking at 14/15 AprilThis has gone quiet again. Date still not confirmed? Do we think that we have stated the date we wish to play on, but Rotherham are pleading to the EFL to come up with something different for them? Thursday 15th April has been referred to a lot, but still no confirmation...........what is happening?
So are we waiting for the EFL to arbitrate then? I remember Warne saying he understood us not wanting to help them out.I thought they were looking at 14/15 April
14 would mean them pulling their QPR game forward one day, so playing saturday/Monday/Wednesday/and then sunday
They wanted 15th to get an extra day in between
We wanted 14th
You forgot your emojisNo shock there then EFL are clowns
How about 11:15 p.m. on the 14th and play the second half on the 15th.I thought they were looking at 14/15 April

They have 12 games left, so they can tag a little bit extra on each of those games and play us for 7 and a half minutes each time (no, no need to check, I have done the maths)How about 11:15 p.m. on the 14th and play the second half on the 15th.
You have too much time on your hands! They have 12 games left, so they can tag a little bit extra on each of those games and play us for 7 and a half minutes each time (no, no need to check, I have done the maths)
What about any injury time? They have 12 games left, so they can tag a little bit extra on each of those games and play us for 7 and a half minutes each time (no, no need to check, I have done the maths)

Still believe covid was used as an excuse with rotheram
Not sure how they really could have gained anything by it - and would leave themselves open to all sorts of issues by a disaffected whistle blower (which could happen at any time), so no - I don't believe it is a contrived position.

I don't think the league wants to be in a position where it's seen to be punishing teams for Covid outbreaks. If it was us dealing with 25 cases (and there by the grace of etc etc) then we would be rightly furious if we were suddenly stripped of any say in when we completed our fixtures.
You probably not aware that they had around 6 or 7 key players injured at that time...Covid was a great way of giving themselves breathing space...You've only got to look at their results since their mini hiatus...they now have a massive psychological advantage...and will fight for their lives! Why, so they could avoid playing us the other week when we were in Luton/Wycombe levels of form? I'm surprised they weren't trying to rip their players from their sick beds.
Agreed - if a club received a harsh punishment for such a thing, as a club I'd be straight back to argue that this time last year football was curtailed, 12 months on with a more transmissible variant of the virus it is being played. How in these circumstances can a club honestly be punished? There is no absolute protection from transmission, football is a group environment with necessary close contact.
Covid was a great way of giving themselves breathing space
You could do a little homework on this...when they came back to play, nearly all that were "tested" pos...were available to the squad and some played...none were anywhere near a ventilator...!You mean ventilators?
.Covid was a great way of giving themselves breathing space..
Why would they? It just makes their own position more difficultStill believe covid was used as an excuse with rotheram
We've had two periods this season. In October we played 5 games in 13 days, In December we played 6 in 18 days.
