Excellent - 20 odd posts for peopel saying they don't care. If you sdon't care why comment? do you phone up the television polls to register a vote for "Don't know"? ... I always wondered who those people were!
Tbh I would'nt have gone out of my way to see it but would have watched it more because it will be a piece of history, but I was travelling (although already seen about 20 re-runs on every channel). It's all harmless enough, some people like that in the way others like pop groups or we like Coventry City, which others would deem 'sad'. Each to their own.
Whoever it was saying small business would suffer, it won't make a difference imo. People will place orders on a different day in the same as they would over Easter or any other period of closure and we have considerably less Bank Holiday's in the UK than anywhere else in Europe.
We comment because if we didn't, it would be assumed that we were also in favour of all this pomp and ceremonious twaddle. It's, for me anyway, got nothing to do with the "cost" to the taxpayer and it's all to do with the two-tier system that this represents. I could easily assume that because 1 million people attended the 'big dress-up' parade that the other 62 million or so were against it....but that would be wrong wouldn't it? So we who disapprove say so....that 's still our right isn't it? Even on this forum?
