Rumour: Hoffman and Elliot takeover negotiations (11 Viewers)

In the absence of conditions being made public the headline figure means very little, it may simply be virtually unachievable.

Which again means that the bidders lack credibility, it's the sort of thing SISU do in public e.g. with the £70m 'investment'

Over sensitive? I guess I could say the same when you accuse people of wanting the bid to fail. Let's just agree to disagree.

Perhaps that's best Torch.

I really don't mind investigative debate, but I didn't feel like it was necessarily what I've been seeing. All I want are these owners to go so the club we love can return to what it once was. I think we have to support this right now.

No me too. I just hope Hoff keeps improving the offer until SISU finally accept rather than just give up and wait another three years before the next one.

Trouble is Joy continually moves the goalposts, at some point Hoffman has to stop and let SISU sweat some more, I'm convinced this deal ain't happening anytime soon, not till after the JR anyhow.

Yes he also said it was agreed?
I'm pretty sure he said he believed the deal was to be accepted, different wording when it sounds like that.
Did you know 2 weeks ago a bid was coming in?
I doubt you did, I thank him for knowing 2 weeks in advance that this was happening, so do hundreds of users on the facebook forum too.

How do you know she moves the goalposts? She may well do that, but we don't know do we? If the offer is lower than SISU want then the offer is lower than SISU want, for example. It'll happen or it won't.

I think it's only fair to ask questions of Hoffman/Elliott and their offer.
We should after all remember that Hoffman and Elliott were two of the directors on the first board after SISU came in. They wasted the golden opportunity to spend the first many, many milions to bring us forward.
They failed.
Their strategy was
1) Stabilize the finances - they failed!
2) Secure promotion to the PL - they failed!
3) Buy 50% of the stadium - they failed!
In fact - their failure laid the foundation the to hatret towards SISU. And they don't seem to have any decency to at least admit they carry some responsibility.

Why would anyone simply accept they are 'better' than SISU when they were 'acting as SISU' (just like Fisher is now) back when there was money and good will in abundance. They screwed up!

Not really. Hoffman was appointed to the board in 2008, at almost the exact same time he took on a huge task at Northern Rock. The criticism that should be levelled at him is that he did not resign from the board immediately because he clearly had no time to dedicate to the football club and was otherwise engaged. That's a valid criticism, but he was hardly involved hands-on day to day, certainly not the Tim Fisher of the time as you allude to.

He ultimately sussed them out and walked away, probably later than he should have done, but to directly attribute all those failures to him I think is wide of the mark and is trying too hard to discredit a bid we currently have no details of, and which involves up to 6 other individuals we have no knowledge of.

It will all come out in the wash, but for now, I remain cautiously optimistic.

There is no point scrutinising a deal we know very little about. If any bid is accepted then clearly then we need to see the plan and scrutinise all we want, especially if they are expecting supporters to buy shares. The transparency people want I am sure will come in time, for now, let's just let them do what they need to do.

Yeah we are all using his information about the second deal being rejected. If he hadn't been right before I doubt we would be. I had heard about the attempt yeah I don't know whether it's all come from the same place. All I'm saying is I wonder why he believed it was agreed. Had he been misled or does he know more

It could be just willing to sell in principle or yes we are now open to try and negotiate a deal. As simple as that.

Just look back at the record of negotiations between ACL & SISU.

I like the idea that it'd be in Donald Trump's favourites list. Golf and Cov, that's all he's got going on these days.

I'm not going to get into an argument with you (something you enjoy) but no one is backing SISU.

Yes, but asking questions will help know if it will get rid of them surely?

If a fan asking questions about it causes that much of a stir what will SISU do to it?
We can not and will not have any baring on whether a bid is accepted or not, we won't be
Privy to the nuts and bolts that make up the basis of the bid.
SISU will ultimately do
HOLY FUCKING SHIT

What he 'sussed out' was that SISU were not prepared to give more money than initially agreed to a board that failed the main objectives. If he tries to avoid his responsibility or deflect blame he is not worthy of any high level jobs.

But my post was aimed at those who are baffled that anyone can question Hoffman/Elliott's involvement. I don't think the pair have a very good track record at the club and so it's very fair to ask them questions.

I am not against a take over - in fact the club needs it more than ever - but will this offer give us more than a short relief? Is the strategy sound? Will the club have finances to invest causiosly? Will we be left with a debt burden that will drag us down and secure another administration within a few years? Will be be tied to the Ricoh and become a revenue maker for WASPS? Will we keep the level 2 acadamy? ......
I think there are questions we need to ask and giving Hoffman/Elliotts prior performance we are fully entitled to do the asking.
