Rumour: Hoffman and Elliot takeover negotiations (8 Viewers)

That was the impression I got from last week, no discussion. You would think that the way it would work is the buying party makes an offer, the selling party say no, we want this figure and then the negotiations take place over the middle ground. As far as I can tell Sisu have not made it clear what they want. It is also hard to negotiate via email. Sepalla too busy to meet according to Hoffman on Friday. Says a lot about Sisu and the way they conduct themselves.

Well, maybe - just maybe she really don't want to sell or don't expect a serious offer that would tempt her to sell. I am sure she will find the time to meet anyone who present her with a tempting offer, proof of funds and list of involved investors.

Even if you know that money goes to SISU?

Let's say Hoffman has access to £3m today and that SISU will only listen to offers north of £10m then we need to find 7.000 like you. Preferbly 7.000 that would in addition buy a ST.

No. I mean, in effect, gift the new owners 1000,00 to help get SISU out. The ST money would be extra and up to the individuals. This ST money could then be used to buy a squad or for footballing things instead of repaying backers or investors. I won't buy a ST because I am not home often enough, but I would gladly pay SISU to go if it meant people who were in it as fans and not purely to extract a profit came in. Actually we are expecting people to put money into something which more than likely will lose them money - tbf we should also be involved in financial risk if we wish to criticise their financial governance. It is easy to say others should invest when we don't - apart from STs and gate money where we expect a direct return in the form of entertainment anyway.

Hoffman says he won't give up and I want to believe him, but if you're greeted with a flat no every time it'd take a lot to keep persevering. Until it's dead in the water I'm living in hope, but at the moment it's only the same hope as when I was frantically Googling Alki David to see who the fuck he was.

Well, if it gets to a stage where a price has been agreed and Hoffmann needs money putting in so as not to have to drain money from the income streams, then I would pay £ 1000,00 for a non voting share - not as an investment, but purely for vanity. I can image a campaign to raise money in this way - by selling non voting shares to fans - could bring some funds in.

But we are not there yet.
I would also be willing to do something like this, I think a lot of people would, in fact if it gave The
club a fresh start and a real chance to become a proper football club again, I think it would be a
Small price to pay.

PR companies wet dream.

Hoffman has submitted offers that will never ever be accepted.

I'd be in as well.
A fool and his money as they say!

edit to say - I'd need guarantees of no wasps involvement. I'm not paying money to one hedge fund in order to get rid of another.

As said though, it will need to be both. The offer will need to go up a lot and an acknowledgement of the debt in some way or another. (No way saying it should all be paid off, just an agreement of what to do with it).

It does make me wonder that surely Hoffman would have known that though? It also seems random about him not wanting publicity and the leaks and then giving the telegraph the full details.

Something just seems a bit strange at the minute.
Yes a bit strange that originally it was leaked by someone else and les be clear it wasn't me. If Hoffman is now using the CET who can blame him

But that would take out money that the club needs. The sad truth is that ANY money that leave the club and go to SISU will decrease its viability.

Obviously. Which is why I don't think it's been offered, Zack seems to be indicating that it has the way I read his reply. Lets face it, any deal that takes future revenue out of the club and puts it into SISU's hands whether that be percentages of player sales, Ryton sale or promotion windfall is a better deal for SISU than it is the club. problem for the club is in the absence of someone willing to give everything upfront with no add on's that SISU want to go and leave the club debt free unfortunately this may be the best and only thing long term for the club. The alternative seem's to be stick with SISU on the downward spiral they don't seem to be able to slow down let alone stop and turn around. If anything the spiral is increasing in velocity.

But atleast Hoffman and his business allies are there and won't go away all sorts of hurdles for sisu to get over all time low season tickets sales, the academy situation and where to play our homes games in a years time. The low season ticket sales issue might inhibit player signings but will also mean bills need paying where does Joy find that money

Why? It's a fairly arbitrary time period. SISU have other jobs or interests that may mean that GH et al have to wait for a meeting. Hopefully they use time productively to think about how any future offer meets the interests of SISU and CCFC. The last offer did neither.

Have I missed something? Are you saying you knew about the bid before it was made?

I wonder if this is going to be the reason takeover talks stop? ;)

The only things new were the figures weren't they?
Seems to me one person with an agenda is being fed by another person with an agenda and being supported by others with agendas. I also have an agenda however in my defence I'm not being fed or supported by anyone.

Maybe you've just explained why TF got nowhere looking for a new stadium site. No one would talk to them without proof of funds and a list of investors involved. I'm sorry but i just don't believe for a minute that that is how Joy herself does business (sort of the point of being a Hedge Fund I would think) so I find it very disingenuous that this line has even been reeled out and surprising that a CCFC fan would use it in their defense. Certainly at this stage, but here we are.

No I didn't know and if I had known I wouldn't have let it out in such a way

Ah, OK. The problem is, with 6 people involved, and maybe others aware... it's not difficult how it got out into the open, and there could be many agenda's.

I agree, who is feeding italia and others? Why did the source who knew so much suddenly say it was down to hoffmans daughter signing for wasps and then gilbert denying it all?

Let's not pretend there's isn't a PR game on the go from all sides.

If we didn't know the details of the bid, we would all only have Hoffman's "too good to reject" type stuff wouldn't we and italia's "this will make them think".

I can understand that, but the full details would have had to be given to a certain journalist, by the way I use that term loosely so that it could be used, but why. Can't see Hofmann telling him so then who lol

Are you really questioning where he got the info? I didn't even realise that was a talking point!

That's not good. Problem is, when even Italia knows things ;) you have to say it's more a case of who's not leaking information, then who is!

And if we take Hoffman at his word, he didn't.

So we're left with two mightily obvious candidates... and you have to ask what either gain from it.

If people had kept their mouths shut there would have been non of this. How come there have been various other approaches to buy the club but none have become public, but when Hofmann is involved we have all this. Perhaps somebody is getting a bit jittery,

So you think it's SISU leaking to Italia and others?

If other people have put in offers and nothing is said, but Hoffman does and it's in the press. That secretive he has meetings in public coffee shops and not board rooms?

Why are so many rumours "I know somebody who knows Hoffman"...

You wouldn't make a good defence lawyer ;)

At the end of the day no offer is going to take on the debts from day one.
If you are bidding more than the clubs worth and Sisu say it's a poor offer who is right?

Who wants the deal?
