To be clear I'm not saying I believe it, but this is one of the guys who originally said ruud had applied

How many interested parties can there be? Surely it's just the owner? Unless he means the other footballing staff at the club prefer RvN...

Assuming these reports are genuine, I am so excited by the prospect of one of our top 3 bookies favourites. All 3 would be great,

I think RVN would be my first choice, if we got him on a 3-4 year contract I don’t think we’d need to worry about the stepping stone issue after a year. It would send a real statement of intent to get someone like him, to the fans, the players and the rest of the league.

If Doug sacks Robins only to then ignore the opinions of his football staff to hire Lampard over RVN because he's mates with Harry Redknapp

Where would Doug King have met Harry Redknapp? I thought that story sounded very far fetched (which I guess calls into question the RVN rumour)

He did say he gets advice from “people in football”. I imagine you meet all sorts at games. Football is a small world.

The issue with RVN is he has one decent season and he is off. King will want stability and someone committed to the journey. Is RVN that? I’m not sure…
If he does a good enough job that somebody wants to take him it's a win win, and another win for the compensation package

Weird one that.

King of shaves is registered out of Poole and Redknapp lives in Sandbanks, perhaps King has property down there.

Fucking hell. King prefers Lampard (not a head coach) because of "his ties to the Redknapp family".

He's a fucking idiot.

Maresca, Kompany, Silva, Farke, Bielsa, Nuno, Benitez the last winners of the championship.

All new to the league and not your British Moyes types.

We have to take the risk that RvN could be that guy.

I didn’t realise that, and how depressing is that as a statement around the lack of any high quality English managers in the league.

RVN for me.

Yes it’s a bit of a punt but everything about the guy comes across as dynamic. On the footballing side did well at PSV and got a disjointed Man Utd firing. On the non footballing side; Appointing RVN would genuinely create a buzz and further lift the profile of club.

Lampard on the other hand?

Pretty much all of those managers were blessed with by some distance the strongest squads in the league.

I reckon King was intent on appointing lampard and wouldn’t surprise me if he decided to before the luton match. But RVN applying (if rumours are to be believed) has probably thrown a spanner in the works.

The thought of RVN joining us is becoming more appealing to me by the day, i'll be seething now if we end up with Lampard.

You genuinely may as well have had the forum picking the manager given what he knows about football. The quality of the decision he makes will be only as good as who’s advising him.

I just cannot see RVN coming down to Championship. Plenty of PL teams who'd have him. Or someone like Sporting. Has he genuinely applied?
