My post straight after yours points out that Ponticelli played in quarter of the game Max did if you want to extend his stats to 46 as you have done he would have scored 30 .As for his hold up skills most of the time the ball was headed on in no particular direction hence only 5 assists all season ,commitment if any player does not show that they should not be in the team. I just think as i,ve said before he learnt his game in the first team not his fault

I think if you watched him carefully then you would see that many of the headers he won were to team mates not simply aimlessly nodded on. With regards to Robins playing him, I think he can easily justify this by the goals Biamou contributed by the end of the season. If he had been played in the under 23s would he have been able to produce the spectacular goals that he did or the MoM performance at Notts County in the play offs? I don’t think he would.

I think Haynes should've been loaned out to a League 2 team for the season. Get them to pay his wages, if he became their starter and did well then we'd have known he could've been a suitable backup in L1. If not - then cut ties with him next summer. £50k - the rumoured fee - isn't that much in the grand scheme of things.

As with most things on here, the truth lies somewhere in middle.

I don't think he was crap and by the same token he wasn't nearly good enough for the Championship.

I do though think he just wasn't strong enough to cement that left back place.

His tackling wasn't great and neither was his positional play. He could be good going forwards, but didn't show it nearly enough.

He had a decent cross on him and could shoot, but didn't put enough decent crosses in and didn't score enough goals.

It was the right time for him to move on. I wish him well for the future, but he never lived up to the promise we first had for him.

I do think he will end up League Two or National League.

Good luck to him, but it's time to move on for both club and player now.

He was also asked to play as a deep defensive outlet for two thirds of the season in a team set up to play counter attacking football. When you see where he was winning headers it's on the edge of the centre circle to midway in the oppo's half and normally deeper than their backline. We didn't have a midfielder run beyond the strikers until Bayliss came into the team and with our 2 DMs who was he supposed to assist? You're never going to get many assists playing that role. Someone like Akinfenwa is playing on the last line of the defence and has 2 or 3 players running beyond him everytime the ball is launched in his direction.

Ryan Haynes had his moment when he first broke into the first team, it quickly became apparent that he didn't have enough guile about him and was more than suspect for the odd costly error.
If we are to progress we have to move these types of players on, they simply don't have the necessary quality, the DKE twins have also gone for the same reason good luck to them in the future but they aren't our players anymore so I hope they play really crap against us and enjoy the rest of their careers.

The post said we should feel guilty for slagging him off. I have no regrets at all. He was, and is, shite. I didnt fawn over him for being local, trying hard or for 1 decent thing he did in his career here. Im not being a dick im being truthful, something many on here cant deal with

For all you Ryan Haynes haters out there, I think I should point out that he's the one who's had the last laugh. After all, he's moved from a team that finished sixth in League Two that didn't want him to a team that finished third in League One that do.
