If we are really after Field then that would mean the end of chasing Sheaf. Played in a poor Charlton side last year.

All the sources I've heard from say the hold up with him is wages. Either he or his agent might be misreading the market and I doubt MR is one to be messed around for too long. It could be something the lad regrets as we'd be a great move for his development.

silly boy if so, especially if he ends up rotting in Arsenals reserves (sorry for the choice of phrase given this weeks carry on).

I'm sure he'll end up with a loan move somewhere but he isn't going to become an Arsenal first teamer and he's letting his wages get in the way of moving to a Championship club that will guarantee him game time, has a solid track record of developing young players and not standing in their way if a big move comes along.

He's under contract until 2022 at Arsenal. Worst case he gets a loan move and keeps his current wage.

He's already had a few injuries in his career, can't blame him for not jumping at a wage cut to join a team who are going to be amongst the favourites for relegation in the Championship.

That's not how it works SBE
If it's a loan & if he's contracted to Arsenal till 2022 then Arsenal pay whatever his contract stipulates
He won't take a wage cut and we will pay his accommodation expenses too
The dispute is probably between us and Arsenal as to what percentage of his wages we will contribute
I really can't see us buying him

Interesting, don't know if anybody has listened to Darrah Macanthony's podcast 'The Hard Truth' but his most recent one Episode 17 he talks about the loan market and it is really interesting how convoluted some of these deals can be really. Not surprised some take quite a while. Like him or Loathe him he does just say it how it is, quite a good listen.

I was only talking about a wage cut for a permanent move which all the talk has been about.

I meant worst case he gets a loan move somewhere else than a permanent move to us.
