Not really, well not for me. Those first couple of months last season were fantastic, winning games, scoring goals, brilliant support. No, not in the top flight, but still memorable and exciting.
I agree but I’d always rather watch us at the highest level. I started going in 92, so am glad that I got to see us in the top flight.

I enjoyed it too for the first 20 years of my support. And, of course, the higher the better, but most of the time it was pretty demoralising.

What?! My son is 16 and has seen two Wembley wins and two promotions in amongst the admittedly shit stuff.
I was 21 when I went to Wembley for the Cup Final. Before and after was rubbish. The odd highlight in the top flight years being those rare occasions when we beat Liverpool or Arsenal.

Younger fans nowadays have it much better than we did in my opinion.

The under 18s have had a few bits to shout about, but they will know us as a lower league side who play against Forest Green etc. Hardly success.

Anyone between 18-30 has had it as bad as any fan.

Two promotions and two Wembley victories is hardly "a few bits to shout about". Why mention Forest Green when we don't play them anymore due to the two promotions since we last faced them?

Sorry it may be because I was 20 when we were relegated so wide eyed youth an all that, but the Prem days were far better than anything the last couple of decades. For a start playing the likes of arsenal or Chelsea without a guaranteed tonking or playing their kids. Special moments seemed much more frequent and as great as the JPT and L2 playoff finals were, they’re just two days. The majority has been a horrible slog watching pretty crap football.

Remember when we used to sign players for fees regularly? And had international call ups and academy kids in the U21s? Marvellous

Its nothing to do with age its just better. It wasn't always defeats either - in the early to mid 80's I went to most home and away games. Crowds were pretty small then as away fans but its just better seeing the best players on display - better than beating Cheltenham by 6 or whatever.

After the first season in the Championship it just fell away. League Two was just dreadful.

I agree it was better in many ways. We had a team that played together with no real stars. OK we had the yearly relegation battle but there was no greater feeling than surviving on the last day, although the nerves before hand were terrible. Also we had the beatings of the big teams at Highfield Road as well as the occasional victories away against them.

I have been watching City since the early 70s and without a doubt the top division days were much more enjoyable. Nothing in the last 20 years has come close, not even the play off final, to watching us play in the top league.

I don't get anywhere near the same level of enjoyment from seeing us win a Championship game as I would in the Premier League. Yes we were rubbish a lot of the time when we were inthe First Division/Premier League but when we won you knew we had beaten a top side, especially when it was someone like Liverpool or Arsenal. But most of all the quality of football is just so much higher. Who doesn't want to see the best quality game?

Last season will be far more memorable for me than most top flight seasons ( lucky enough to see them all) when what was on offer was often lacklustre and pretty poor. The last 5 years have been some of the best in my 55 years as a a fan.
