Are there any written rules to state we are not allowed to loan our season tickets out to other people?

I apricate using the Family Zone ticket exchange generates extra income for the club but wouldn't it be nicer to just loan our tickets to members of this forum who are not in a position to purchase a season ticket?

I am happy to lend my tickets to people on here for the games I cant attend (mainly night match's) Would obviously have to trust they return the cards promptly tho.

Obviously if there are written rules - advertising this on a public forum would be stupid ;)

That said auctioning them off on here wouldn’t be the same potentially
I say it should be an unwritten rule that if you sell your ST for a game, you should only sell it at the price of the ticket pro-rated for one game against the overall price of the ST.

If you sell it a price above the price of one game for the ST and that below the value of the price of the ticket for the game, you would be profiting at the club's expense, which would be dumb if you actually cared about the club.

I lent my season ticket to my dad about three seasons ago as he had lost interest in going and had hardly been, got the bug again now a season ticket holder again and drags my mum along as well, so also lent it to my friend last year and he has already ordered a season ticket this year.

Could this be something the club could run, maybe one for Pete to bring up. We know they will have a ticket exchange system so from a technical standpoint it could be done.

Have a way for supporters to donate their ticket back if they can't attend on the basis it goes to someone who can't normally afford to attend rather than for resale.

It would be good to get the clubs official rules, or get them involved.

Last season I tried to sell 1 adult and 2 children tickets in the FZ (i.e. for a night game when the wife and 2 kids couldn't come) for £15 on a Facebook group. Someone shopped me to the club and:

All 3 tickets were blocked for the game in question
All 3 tickets were given a 1 game ban, though thankfully we were on holiday for that next game anyway.

I'd assume the bit in clause 3 "for value" means you actually receive money or some kind of gift in exchange.

Although the rules don't say so, selling your tickets on is quite clearly different to lending them out for free.

It's a great idea if the ticket is just going to waste. Just might get someone else catching the bug, or at the very least might spend some money in the stadium they wouldn't have otherwise done.

I see now the club are emailing people who have brought or renewed tickets in the family area to email in the childs proof of age birth cert' or Passport or the ST or renew won't happen. While I understand that they are tightening up this seems to be a real after thought. firstly emailing the ticket office to do what ever they want with a minors sensitive ID isn't exactly secure GDPR etc. ..and also they should have thought of this when they proposed the new criteria. A secure ID portal should have been set up with notification on the ticket site when the tickets were brought.

PS I've replied to the ticket office original mail .. will update with response

This isn’t exclusive to the FZ, we’re in the premium zone and my daughter has received the same request (oddly not my other daughter though).

I share your concerns and have also gone back to the club.

FWIW I had a season ticket this season, but with a wedding to plan (and attend) for December and subsequently my wife suffering a fairly serious shattered elbow not soon after, I wasn't really able to attend many games. I left my card with a relative in Cov (we live in London). They gave them to friends who wanted to go when we couldn't. No issues with using them all season as far as I know

let's not get carried away. GDPR states that requests for information have to be relevant and reasonable. this is both.
let's not accuse people of anything sinister just for the sake of it.

the culprits here are the people who have been abusing this system, forcing the club to have to tighten up on things.

deep breaths, everyone.

Not sure it can be a huge shock that people who have purchased tickets on any sort of concession have to provide some evidence that are entitled to that concession. Wouldn't that be expected?

Aye, GDPR regs state the club can ask for anything the reasonably need and ID to prove someone is under the required maximum age is perfectly reasonable.

Yes understand how data can be requested and understand that evidence may be required, but this should be done up front securely on purchase.
I don’t think it’s anything sinister by the club by the way but how is the child ID data via email being used and stored .. just on an outlook file?

It's not the request for the information that is the issue (at least for me), i will provide it. It's the method of delivery they want (no secure portal), and no information on how they will handle it and who will have access to it. I would rather pop in to the ticket office and show them the passport for them to verify, no need to retain a copy. Hopefully that will be an option.

i can't see how they can justify storing the information. they should view it, tick a box on the system, (or whatever they need to do) and delete it.
and yes, you should be able to go in and let them view the documentation to avoid it having to be sent electronically, and potentially stored. that's perfectly reasonable.

i was asked to provide a copy of my driving license some years ago at work. i refused, because i couldn't see any reason why they would need to hold that on file. i allowed them to view it, and record that they'd seen it, but wasn't happy with them having something on file that could be used as ID.
