I blame the stupid bonus system, where a claimed own goal see's you dropped from the team totally

People were calling for thorn to go way before the end of last season

However my point is, you don't blame any of these three guys. If we fall short it is because we lost 5 matches on the trot.

Whatever you view of thorn I could not see that team losing 5 on the trot.

If u are going to sack a manager after he has signed half the first 16 in the few weeks, prior to his sacking.

Don't do it to make a statement to you boss (joy). Then start thinking about a replacement.

So if we fall short I know where I think the blame sits.

I would be surprised if anyone thinks it sits anywhere else.

However personally I don't think you should sack a manager who you allowed to sign 9 of the first 16, weeks before. After 3 matches especially when you haven't even lost a match. Even if u think 3 draws is not good enough.

That's a personal opinion and maybe that a bit of a crazy opinion.

Thorn made demands at the end of last season (begged) to keep his job, the board accepted reluctantly, suggesting they didn't have 199% faith in him, therefore, he HAD to hit the grind running and learn from his mistakes, he didn't and deserved the sack.

I don't think he would've lost 4 in a row like Shaw but, Shaw was a joke of a caretaker manager! They left Robins with a mess, at least it was a mess you could clean up, which he has too some extent!

Oh my lord!!! THORN.IS.GONE.PERIOD!!!

...Can we please forget about Thorn? He's gone, there's no point crying over spilt milk again and again and again when the bloody milk was cleared away months ago! What's done has been done, we know it wasn't handled brilliantly but that's what we got!

We now have Robin's and he's doing a good job. Allow Thorn to rest in peace will you!

Im thinking if put in our best fight from now until the end of season and dont quite achieve those aims - blame no-one, come back next year with an "in shape" team for a FULL season and really go for it on the basis that we will be less likely to drop points at the start of the next season than we did this season. :guitar2:

If we don't quite achieve these aims I rather worry that after an obvious decent performance we will have a couple of players that might actually be worth something - if we're still in League 1 next season as a result of missing those aims we will still have a pretty sizable loss budgetted so don't you think it more than a bit likely SISU will sell those players to balance the books

I think we will be lucky to get in the top 1/2 & avoiding relegation is a more realistic target as the Team we have is not equipped for this League. McG will be gone in January too.
Do people actually think we have a good squad? Not trying to be a confrontational but I just don't see it.
Hope I am seriously wrong...........

Think we have a really good manager for once and a handful of good players ... play-offs is a dream obviously - top half is my realistic expectation

I think you'll find my post is the first time I've got involved in the Thorn debate and most of the time it's been to say exactly what I just did.

So while I'm sure you were probably trying to be funny, I don't appreciate it! Try saying that to people like Don and Lordsummerisle and leave me out of it!

I will post whatever I want as long as it is not abusive and if you don't want to read then dont.

The OP asked who will you blame AT MR or RS.

I have answered that question.

I'm so relieved.
It's been at least a week since a thread descended into a fight about Thorn. I was starting to think I was reading the wrong forum.
All is well again.

Oh, and just for good measure, not even Alex Ferguson could do any better with this squad.

Boy, that felt good.

In a thread that asks the question would u blame

AT MR RS.

I answer none of them and explain why for each one.

I also state that I would blame TF and Wag.

Yet I am the criticised for explaining why I would not blame AT.

Way see it the start was dreadful but we can reacgh play offs and maybe have a go in the JPT. we have a large squad by division standards some will prove good some will be poor and with Robins i am sure he will be cut. if we miss the play offs by 2 points you can look at the thorn draw against bury when it was in the bag or the Robins draw against Swindon when it was in the bag if you want. However thats a naive silly way to look at things. thorn dropped points, shaw dropped points, robins dropped points. Murphy will make mistakes, we will concede goals that are offside or give away penalties that were never penalities.

The variables over a course of a season will determine a lot and its not a simple case of blame the board, blame the team, blame the managers and staff, blame the fans. Its across the board all these factors play apart. This club is by no means perfect and years of defeats and nothing players has made us a club with a blame culture. My policy this year of all years is to stop the blame and just support Coventry City. At the end of the year i will rethink and begin to blame and point fingers and wish i supported a team that won things. But for now we are in a division we are too big for and we need to return to a way of support that sees us help opur team.

blame game needs to stop.

No irony isn't a mental illness to me.

I don't appreciate being included in your stupidity that's all.

I'm just getting tired of this forum constantly being used to talk about shite. People don't post here anymore because you talk about and churn over the same crap, week in week out. How many times has the subject of Thorn and his sacking been mentioned as an excuse to start a fucking fight on here!

Can't you find something else to talk about or do you like moaning about the same shit? This place has been quiet recently because we've had a good upturn in form so you decide to start another debate about Thorn and you churn over the same crap you've mentioned in the hundreds of previous threads you've either created or ruined by bringing it up.

Sorry for airing my views for the first time ever on this (because up until now I've kept quite mostly) but it has needed to be said for some time now. Leave the past to the past and celebrate the future we have under Robin's!

This is a thread about who to blame? Waggott, Thorn, the players etc?

Irony is a sort of metally thing to you, not a mentally thing, though going by your meltdown on here your inability to read may have inadvertently made it more accurate.

Thanks for your input.

To fair it can be used to talk about whatever people want to talk about, they could talk about the squad of 64 if they really wanted.

The whole idea is discussion and opinions.

You know what...im had a crap day so i apologise for losing it a bit there...

But no i don't have an inability to read, i just have an aversion to people who constantly air the same crap on this forum. Yeh forums are here to discuss issues relating to life, the city and god knows what else.

But when you talk about the same thing (Thorn) over and over and over and over and over and over and over again with the same opinions repeated and rehashed a number of times in about 10/20 off threads, sometimes having the same argument in 2/3 different threads at one time, it can get annoying. My name is not Kim Il Richie...for your information im all for freedom of speach but there is a point when it can get a little too much!

So i ask you, don't you get bored of talking about the same things over and over again? There have been some great threads put up here that have had nothing to do with Thorn or his saga, yet one of you (Grendal, Lordsummerisle, NLHWC...theres so many of you to chose from) constantly turn these great threads into one thing and one thing only...all about Thorn!

Now yeh, while we had him in charge i can understand that...hell i got involved in the conversations myself! But what i don't understand is your need to bring him up at every turn. Have you ever thought that your apparant need to talk about him is a little disturbing and sad to boot? They're plenty of things we can talk about surrounding this club and its current management/owners that don't include Thorn in the title.

So why do you insist on bringing him up still? Yes this thread was about who do we blame if we don't make the top 6. Great! Brilliant! Fantastic! So i say to you, how about nobody! The harms been done, we can't change it, why do we need to point fingers? Robin's has come in and is doing the best he can so far and he's doing a very good job! Thorn got us relegated, brought in 9 players of which only a handful have only really performed to the standards he said they would and then got fired. Shaw took over for 6 games and just didn't have the skill to keep the team going etc. SISU have constantly screwed up left right and centre and they don't have the first clue about running a football club, Hoffman/Elliot/Ranson have continually failed to deliver on any takeover etc etc i could go on for hours but i really can't be arsed to do so because its all been said and done before by the same people, arguing about the same points while people like myself sit there reading it and think "Why the hell do i bother".

I'll tell you why i bother! Because there can be some great banter on this site and some brilliant threads to post in when the same crap isn't being rehashed and in my humble opinion, your all worth my time because your all nice to talk too (with some exceptions of course). So im sorry if i've upset any of you but after the day ive had, something had to snap...

Those complaining about repetitive posts are just giving them attention and incentive for people to re-post the same old topics. The best way to get anyone not to do something is simply to give it no attention-thread after thread with no replies and anyone (I hope) would soon get the message. Throwing a hissy does the opposite.

Chill, I understand your point. When someone posts a thread that is not directly related to AT and then someone throws a comment in there and the debate starts. Ie is who is our best player this season.

However what did you honestly expect to read in a thread that is partly about AT in the OP.

Honestly it pretty much says it on the tin. If I was you when you see a thread that is about AT just don't read it.

You have not offended me. I love the banter and enjoy the debates. I rarely take offence to comments on here.

When a subject bores me on here as soon as I realise it is about that subject I don't bother reading it.

Hope you have a better day tomorrow.

Well thats always the danger with Sisu and I accept what your saying, that they will see a cash opportunity to balance the books and shaft the talent on the pitch. I admit Im being a bit idealist but was really dealing with where we apportion blame for not getting there this season. I should have made the point with the caveat that if we suffer next season as the result of losing key players during the summer then there will be a massive case to be answered by Sisu as we will only slide yet again.
