I have looked again at the 'offending' summary by Jan. It's here: http://www.skybluestalk.co.uk/threads/scg-meeting.66351/page-4#post-1124904
It seems to me that this is a highly useful piece of information for fans and it's hard to see what harm has actually been done by releasing it. When fans complain to SISU about "lack of transparency", this kind of communication is exactly the thing we want to hear. Open, honest summaries of what's going on. Instead of doing more of it, the club insist on heavily censoring it and only enabling a select group of people hear what is going on. When this is breached and fans are given a useful summary, Venus refuses to return. Petulant and exactly why fans have got a problem with the people who run our club.
I do think if "strict confidentiality" is in force then it was a shame to breach this, if Jan did so knowingly, however the wider point is that this kind of communication should not be locked down to a select group and should be normal form of general communication with fans (excluding anything sensitive and confidential). I think some on SCG like to ride the "embargo / confidence" train because they think it gives them power, status and authority.
I think that anything not in the final minutes cannot be discussed, so potentially some of the most interesting stuff will never come into the public domain. Whilst I agree any embargo/confidentiality policy ought to be respected, it's a shame that this is in place and that we don't hear such candid comments from the likes of MV regularly. It would break down the walls between club and fans.I think it could do with a shakeup of people. Every "group" should have a rep, for example Italia should be able to go there and tell them what issues disabled fans have (cant get tickets, cant see, access is hard) etc etc.
If disabled fans have issues, they can then put them to Italia to put across at the meeting.
Yes, they have always had the confidentiality stuff but isn't it just until the minutes come out? So they just can't say stuff until they come out. If the minutes are all made up they can mention it then can't they and discuss the meeting?
I don't see anything in the post on the previous SCG thread that's particular controversial. Kieran Crowley has said the same things on twitter.
I think this is not about content it is all about control. Pathetic in my view.I don't see anything in the post on the previous SCG thread that's particular controversial. Kieran Crowley has said the same things on twitter.
So the Maddison money is not going out of the club, but it's pretty clear it's not part of the playing budget either. There's only one interpretation for that, and that's that the money is being spent on covering our ongoing operating losses. Paying the bills, paying the staff salaries, keeping the lights on.
Also I note TF's comments about how disappointing our position is and how we ought to be doing better. In a way it's no surprise but he said that to me after the 3-1 at Gillingham a few years ago, and Pressley got the bullet a couple of weeks afterwards.
I think the London Supporters group took a different line to Strange and he resigned as their chairman before he was pushed out.
He wasn't going to be pushed out. He was absent at the AGM when the CCLSC took a decision, unanimously amongst those present, to object to the move to Northampton. When he found out about it, he objected and threatened to resign unless the committee overruled AGM and overturned the decision, which they declined to do. So he resigned on his own initiative. There was no move to oust him and nor would there have been.
I can't help but think a lot could be done by the person who does kierens job now, a weekly q and a.
Obviously not the controversial stuff, but things like transport, ticketing etc.
Make it a lot less serious and formal and it helps make the fans feel closer
It was more that he did not want to break with the club over it. His view, and fair enough, but others disagreed so he chose to depart. How could anyone actually not condone the Notyhampton move. I am not saying about attending or not but to not actually condone it!
Then again I suppose it is a move closer to London.
I'd do it through their own media, have a weekly event. Just post the article or even video.if they don't want to face crowds (something that is less and less of a problem at ricoh), even if they went on cwr and answered pre sent in questions from fans
Reading Jan's post I'd guess some of the transfer stuff could be sensitive, but I can't remember what was in the public domain at that time.
The fact is, if you don't want fans to know it, don't mention it in the fans consultation meeting. That may mean those who attend feel a little less special, but it stops this nonsense and allows fans to feel they are all being listened to not a select few.

Never lived in Coventry. Been a city fan all my life.
I actively condemned the move to Northampton.

am I right in thinking the final approval of the minutes comes from CCFC?
Leave the SCG and leave the twats to it or let everything out and get thrown offYes !
It's not you then? No it couldn't be I quite like youApproval of minutes and confidentiality is pretty normal
Whose these Strange guy? Comes across as a pompous wanker from those minutes.
It's not particularly confidential though is it really? To be fair Grendel there shouldn't be anything at an SCG meeting that should be confidential why mention anything that is?
No it wasn't but if anything is then why disclose it to a group of supporters? It's not particularly confidential though is it really?
More about releasing sufficient info where it can be scrutinised IMO.
At best he was justifying the budget available to the manager, where a large portion of the fanbase are yet to be convinced it's close to last season's or the one before.
Hardly commercially sensitive to our competitors, more so to the ten thousand left interested in the club.
Utterly meaningless little group of utterly meaningless little people. What's the point?
