I thought that Sandra Garlick's "new stadium" committee had been given the task of thinking up ways of improving the matchday experience. If that is the case, it's a duplication of effort. Or am I mistaken?
Okay, Despite that I have been informed that the SCG has been inaccurately positioned, whereby people are of the belief that the SCG is a Council like figure that can discuss matters with the Club of the nature detailed in the thread, but according to several members I have spoken to this simply isn't the case, in affect the SCG was designed to help improve Matchday experiences at City games and therefore issues of a more serious nature with respect to the business are not the SCG's appropriate forte.
Any issues discussed as such are not included in the SCG's scheduled meeting plans and are off topic discussions raised by individual members of there own feelings and concerns.
That to me was a highlight to the issue, Maybe you should have tried it Noggin.

Only thing I would say to that Robbo is if that is the remit for the SCG then they should stick to it. Messrs Ward & Strange seem to think the SCG can now discuss, transfers, new ground, ownership issues etc ....... all of which are not about enhancing the match day experience. They can't have it both ways can they?
Indeed, Wouldn't that be for messer Strange who is now director, what he chooses discuss with the SCG is obviously his choice.

I think the SCG is well intentioned and the people on it are too. However I think it is more of a tick box exercise for the club (whoever the owners have been). It does not seem to be well connected to the supporters either in general or by its representatives. I think it has forgotten its roots and terms of reference, with far too many members to be effective. It has achieved very little, has next to no powers or structure it sticks to and by certain more dominant members coming across as closely linked to the club (they may not be but that's not how it seems) unfortunately comes across as anything but independent. The farce regarding the appointment of representatives to the CCFC board for me summed it up.
I can not help feeling the SCG whilst having some good people on it serves to massage a few egos and in the end delivers on next to nothing but claims a great deal. Just my opinion, which could be changed should the SCG actually achieve something meaningful like asking the Club the difficult questions and telling us all the answers. I wont hold my breath waiting
I don't know the guy. I am sure he is an incredibly passionate supporter.
However I am must be careful drawing conclusions from notes. It just seems he went we should be cautious of that and that was it no go. Why was he not asked to explain, why should we be cautious. Where was the work around. Where was the attempt to resolve any concerns and make it work.
I am not sure if they fully understand the concept.
A thread on here moderated for abuse. It can be opened by Nick.
The SCG can peruse it. If a certain question gets heavily liked and supported on here and keeps getting asked.
It is raised at the SCG meeting. They discuss the merits of the question and then take it forward to the Boardroom.
They feed the answer back in the next SCG meeting. We get the answer on the notes.
They get to show that they are a truly representing the fans. We get to feel involved. We have a channel for asking questions.
To reject such an idea and use the term 'cautious, without any other explanation. To me shows a lack of understanding.
I have met him personally and he is indeed a very passionate supporter and has helped out the Mrs with her CCFC based dissertation (on Sixfields) quite a lot. I don't know why he thinks it would be a bad idea to have a moderated thread here, though I have his contact details and can put the question to him. I don't know those in the LSC all that well but every time I've gone to a game with them I haven't detected much sympathy for SISU.
Edit: Have just put the question to him for you Don, I don't get the opposition to it either.
Why do you think Mr Strange resigned?
The LSC took the official stance that its members shouldn't go to Sixfields, Strange disagreed so resigned on principle.
As he was the LSC representative on the SCG should have resigned on principle from the SCG dont you think?
Davidson took over as LSC representative. Strange didn't want to force a boycott on the members so resigned due to that. At the moment he is very sympathetic to the club's actions and is a willing Yes man from what I can see.

How could the LSC have enforced a boycott on the members?
Strange and Ward peas from the same pod I suggest you wait to see what happens when their tenure as Chairman and Vice Chairman is up:facepalm:
I think they both know they have little credibility with the fan base and as soon as their utility to Fisher goes they will be cast aside.
I think you're missing the point their tenure is up soon and with Fisher still here what do you think will happen considering that most of the SCG are their supporters?
You've lost me on this one.
You've lost me on this one.
He know you know he knows you know he knows.
...but he's got problems.
Is that right? What would they be?
He isn't a director of CCFC - he has invited by the directors of Otium to attend their Board meetings as fans representative. He has no rights, powers or privileges at those meetings
Yep , pointless exercises.I went to one years ago when Ranson was still at the club, basically spent an hour listening to Natalie Cox complain about the lack of tampon machines at the Ricoh.
Good to see they're still as productive.
Pumping arteries ooze their problems through the gap that the razor tore.
