When all this musical chairs has died down I hope I can just go online and buy two seats together half way up block 17 or 18 👍

Heads up.

40 minute queues at the ticket office at the moment.

Moved seats with 3 others.

If you do that you will need proof of permission from the other people regardless of whether they are in your network. Already did this so it was really quick once at the counter.

Very, very unlikely. From what it seems, 14-20 are fully sold

Just been up the ticket office to move my seats was busy took an hour in the queue. Was running out the Matchday ticket office and only three counters open.

They were letting people renew seats but there is the chance someone has already moved into it.

That said they weren’t selling any new tickets So it’s only people renewing or moving.

Guy in the queue waited an hour to be told he couldn’t buy a new season ticket.

I finally got through on the phone. They said they’re not showing any seats online to ensure existing ST holders get the priority to move into any vacant seats, otherwise new buyers would snap them up.

I thought new buyers couldn’t buy until later this week.

Surely they are looking after existing customers by giving them a preferential week to move to new areas which could have been sold previously to "new customers" in the last few weeks but are currently available - I've got no problem with looking after them. New supporters could have purchased the last few week, they can relax this week and then have the chance to buy again at the early bird price from next Monday when seats will be fully released everywhere again.
The only difficult thing is the process for fans to move seats and the tech to do so and it not being available online but I guess they want to control that carefully and maybe technically they haven't set up the system to stop FZ people moving into more expensive areas without paying more

Hoping a few FZ tickets become available next week to buy the cheaper ones for families with the fund.

Surely though they could’ve just restricted access to the relevant page on the website to people who have renewed and let it be done online? They manage to restrict access when it’s away tickets to people with not enough points

Weren't all previous movers seats' opened up? Anyone who moved prior to today had their seats resold?
Yes, but more are moving. We had an option to move when we renewed a couple of weeks ago but there were fewer seats available. And 2 hadn’t renewed yet. So we were looking to move to. Safe standing today but they had space in 15 anyway. Chose that instead.

There is a lot of faff for some in the queue. One bloke was at the counter and phoning his mates. He was there for a good half-hour. The staff member was very helpful.

Thats simple though as just a number, this is not too complicated but does have more variations, FZ moving out, what if people moved singular tickets into FZ etc - Its technically possible but I suspect you have a certain window with TM to have these in place and the FZ rules etc seem late in the day to have been mapped technically on ST's

we moved out of the family zone too. as we dont live in cov the kids couldnt make the midweek games so with the new restrictions figured its was worth paying the extra money to have our seats guaranteed in a different area of the ground. not having to log on to sell the kids seat then go to the ticket office prematch to pick up a random adult seat each midweek game for me will be good especially because i only just make midweek KO's as it is

i really hoping the upshot of this is a lot of the FZ seats get filled with families that live closer and used, if they do not follow through with these new rules they really should just charge an adult ticket at full price next season and just subsidise the kids tickets for that area

How does it work if you didn't renew by 10am this morning, and someone purchases your seat this week? Will I still get the option to renew on the 7th, and be able to select a different available seat, or will I become a "new" ST purchaser?

Phone or email them.

They could buy from the start, but only available seats. By taking the seat map offline this week it allows existing ST holders to move to newly vacated seats before they all go on general release.
