Errm, isn't it best to secure the new land first and lay a few bricks before putting your old training ground up for sale?
It's not because the Higgs won't/can't deal with us until we get new owners, so that's not an option SISU can follow.

Well they have certainly sprung many surprises on the journey thus far - so one more wouldn't hurtUnless they have done more work on this that what we're aware of.
I do wonder about the clause in the local plan about the training ground site:
"Implementation of site allocation DS3.9 can only occur when adequate replacement of pitch provision is made to the satisfaction of Rugby Borough Council and Sport England in accordance with national planning policy."
The condition seems to imply there needs to be the development of new pitches elsewhere, not the sharing of existing pitches. Also, I wonder whether there would be any geographic limitations on the provision of any new pitches (would they need to be in Ryton, or Rugby Borough, or within a certain distance of the existing facility).
There are a lot of unanswered questions here.
It also does tie in with CA wanting to move the first team to the Higgs...
Maybe that is still on the cards with what they plan?
Wouldn't that go against RBC and Sports England wanting the pitches replacing at a separate location first? The Higgs is existing, also not in the Rugby Borough.
I'm sure they'll find a way to get around this issue on the cheap.Wouldn't that go against RBC and Sports England wanting the pitches replacing at a separate location first? The Higgs is existing, also not in the Rugby Borough.
In their 9 years at the club, how many of SISU's stated aims/plans have ever been delivered?
The only 'success' they've had is to alienate everyone/everything they touch and take us out of the City to Northampton. It's no wonder we don't believe them and are tired of their propaganda.
- Ownership of the Ricoh - nope
- New stadium - nope
- Open and honest communication with the fans - nope
- Organic/sustainable improvement of the club finances and the team - nope
- Sustainable academy - nope
- Probably other things I've missed
Only seeking planning possibilities as compared to the WASPs farrago of appearing to get permission that almost certainly has been approved
MORE of our History eroded , I think we all know now , that they are here for themselves and not CCFC ..
Oh do fuck of with trying to continually pointing the finger in Wasps direction. Have you managed to make a post on this thread yet without mentioning them? This has nothing to do with wasps whatsoever. Why are you trying to change the story? What purpose does it serve you?
True, unless they are planning somewhere else.
Is it 100% it has to be in Rugby?

It winds you up !

History? It was bought in 1980 ( CT quote )
if you look at the quote I posted in post 123 it would seem it's a condition of planning permission that they have to provide alternative pitches elsewhere.Christ almighty do you still believe a word they say. Unbelievable.

I wonder how strict that caveat is?
I bet you Moggas gutted he spunked £50k/QUOTE]
Maybe that is what will solve our problems? Just give him a locked room, a day and the internet and he can buy Ronaldo.
Note the company address is registered at Ryton, the new company address will probably be a PO box.I bet you Moggas gutted he spunked £50k on some new paint and graffiti last summer.

I think it's a valid question, does that mean it has to be in Rugby?
Obviously, with sisu involved it could all be bollocks but it would be nice to know that they will never sell Ryton without a viable alternative been put in place.
I wonder how strict that caveat is?
History? It was bought in 1980 I had been watching CCFC for 25 years by then!
Any way - "The centre wasn’t a success however, and some years later the then Chairman John Poynton sold the Connexion for a fraction of its initial build cost"
That is John Poynton - Who now bankrolls Jersey Rugby Club ( CT quote )
The other question is does these alterative pitches have to make up the academy. It's quite possible that the club could put two random pitches somewhere in the borough satisfying RBC and sports England that no playing surfaces have been lost but not for the training ground at the fraction of the cost of building a new training ground. Then just renting facilities at UOW for example as a training ground.

Piss off beating me to it!
Nice to see we're on the same page. For a change
The clubs statement gives me no confidence that we're going to be moving to a brand new spangly training ground and this is going to be a huge step forward for the club and it's infrastructure. I'm guessing you're feeling the same way too?
