Anybody play “Score! Match”? I reckon it’s the best football game you can get for your phone. You can play friends & other people who have it.

Anyone fancies a game then hit me up :)

I’m really envious of those with a dog and a garden at the moment. Not being able to go outside is the worst.
Luckily I have both. The back lawn is now almost entirely scalped of grass, and I have pricked-out all my winter seedling hellebores. Next stop, empty the pond and re-line it.
As for the dog, I used to walk him every day. Now, the missus is insisting on her rights and walks him every other day. I know we could walk him together, but, come on, we spend 24 friggin hours together as it is...
Just off to tidy the workshop. Again. And maybe vacuum the car. Bah

Work is a bit of a godsend at the moment, I'm locked in but 9-5 I'm working at my desk like I would have anyway.

Think I’m gonna try and organise a sing a long crucifixion on good Friday with my choir from church. On teams or zoom or hangout or something. Anyone think of any?

You lot are great. I know I need to sort my mind out but the fact so many of you genuinely care is so heartwarming. Often just verbalising feelings and other validating them is more than half the solution.

Still struggling but practicing gratitude

We had a group video rehearsal last weekend, but as that was only four of us, we did it on WhatsApp.

Anyone recommend a free group video conferencing/chat app?

I have seen a few, but it seems your call is limited to 45 mins only.

My missus's group use Zoom. No idea about it personally and can't ask her as I've escaped for an hour, but might be worth a look.

Zoom is the standard one. I used FB messenger, FaceTime, WhatsApp depending on the size. I think hangouts handles large groups pretty well. Teams is shite IMO, only 4 cameras at once as well.

Sorry you're feeling bit down Pete.

If you can't work and are just stuck in, but with no medical reason to self-isolate, perhaps contact the local council/health authority and see if they need some volunteers? Maybe they need people delivering supplies to the doorsteps of the elderly, or care homes?
Not sure how that all works, but if you have a legitimate reason to be outdoors, and you can keep yourself and others save from passing it on, you'll not only give yourself a reason to keep going but help so many others who are probably feeling the same.

My missus says Google Meets* is a good platform for a bigger group, as you can see everyone at once. You do need a Google account though.

* that may be the local butcher

I've got a list that should keep me going for a bit,
Paint the spare room (I bought the paint in january!)
Sort out the garage
Tidy the shed
Tidy up the garden.
Weed the drive
Actually learn how to use the editing program on my p.c.
Watch band of brothers again
Watch every series of peaky blinders again.
Talk to the mrs, and actually find out what she does for a living.

Don't all the pocketfuls of 50p pieces every night tell you a story then?

Can't speak for anyone else, but I'm trying to impose a bit of a routine.

Will skype video chat with friends and family at set times each week;
We'll designate one night as a hobby night (whatever it is, even if it's just doing a jigsaw!)

Then there are the general hobbies to keep going, and fortunately I like cooking, so trying to improvise will take me away from recipe books, and maybe learning a bit more about what type of ingredient works with what else!

Might also be worth writing down any achievement (however small) during the day, to look back on. If you're in a negative mindset you're in danger of writing nothing, but even making a cup of tea might be an achievement if you're really low.

I think the routine bit is key.

Today was so stressful it’s untrue. Surrounded by layoffs, deaths, uncertainty, fear- the works. I only know one thing that will work at this point, and that’s to get out pounding the streets and sweat it all out.

Hope thing are improving.

suggestion: go out, leave your specs at home. Do some swimming in the nearest clean lake, cycle and then run 10k.

if the law stops you tell them you are on a squint triathlon....

there. Got that off my chest!

Just with the point of everything. I need to buck up and not drag myself down a route to a bad place.

What do you all do to stop the depression rising?
Got to admit I'm struggling a bit myself. In the past month had to leave my flat due to electrical problems, all tenants had to move out. And stayed for a few days with my son but place too cramped so moved to a hotel, but due to this virus it closed down today, so am now in an apartment in the city centre. I can adapt but all this moving about has left me a bit down. I'll get by I always do, but I can understand how many people get depressed at times.

All that would be enough to get anyone down without all this corona stuff as well.
Keep your spirits up B- bit of planet rock should help!

Bloke from agency met me outside apartment to hand me the keys. As this virus has taken over he said he'd go in and leave keys on the table. Fair enough. An hour later he rang to see how I was settling in etc ? Apologised for appearing rude, and said usually he would show me round. Been trying all night to get the T.V. to come on , but no signal. And left my radio in the hotel ! So I'll reckon I'll call this day off. Hope tomorrow is more positive. Had a walk round city centre earlier everywhere shut, I'm round the corner from the Litton Tree, I'd have Had a few in there If it was open !'

Reading this thread has put it into perspective for me. Have volunteered to do extra shifts at work until those not able to work can come back. Looks like I could average about 72 hours a week until it is over. But at least I won't be stuck inside. I live by myself in England so the main reason I said I would come in as much as possible.

I’m already finding it hard. Have done a load of gardening, have gone out for a walk for an hour downloaded golf clash which I’m starting to get hooked on and a game called club soccer director which I’m also getting hooked on. Will wash to car tomorrow.

SAJ, if you're really looking for something to do, you can come and wash my car. I won't even charge you.
