Now some of the clouds have been lifted bar a few details it is becoming clear that as we move forward a new manager is imperative.

Assuming there will have to be some money for a new manager made available as the statement tended to indicate then who do you think will be the new chairman's choice trusted to get it right this time?

I believe the demands are going to be strong with a success starved club in need of something to shout about - possibly a good shout at promotion next season as little else will satisfy either the fans or the boardroom from here on in.

So lets have a few serious names who may/could take the job under this new remit? This is not a job for a rookie from the lower leagues. Equally I don't think they will be looking at the old guard such as Blackwell. They will want experience and hunger with some proven ability at this level at least.

I struggle to come up with anyone tbh. I'm still of the opinion that Di.Mateo or Curbishley could fit the parameters?
Will they appoint someone asap or wait for the all the management exits in the summer?

Summer for me. No point in getting a manager in now when we dont even know if we will have a club for next season. Wait till this mess is starrting to sort itself out ( the sooner the better ) , then when we know what the long term plan is, you can share that with new prospective managers.

In a dream world, if we got Billionaire new owners coming in, then of course the calibre of manager we could bring in would be ten fold what we could get now.

Not being funny but who in their rite mind would want to manage us with the state of things at the moment ? Wait for stuff to sort itself out and then when the club is ready a manager can make an informed decision by looking at the resources and funds he has available. Until then I think it would be stupid.

I'm going summer. No point bringing someone new in with 8 games to go, they're going to have zero chance to craft any squad of their own, and they're likely not going to know the players or who is good at what. Best off sticking with Thorn/Harrison for now who know what we've got, then in the summer giving the job to someone who can build their own team.

Booby Gould is hoofball as much as I love the fact that he's city through and through he is old school and no better than AB. Passion would have been ok until the summer but not long term. The others mentioned Poyet no chance as he has better at Brighton, Di Matteo no thanks as failed, Clarke no good, inexperienced lik eNeville - why? repuations mean nothing. Decent players dont always make good managers and we have tried inexperiences nilsson, macallister strachan all poor tried experienced and big names not worked. Wenger, Fergurson, Mourinho none of were outstanding players. We nned an O'Driscoll type but couldn't prize him away. Luck involved and no guarantees, but lets go for some attacking, entertaining manager with a reputation for playing football. If we don't win so be it but lets enjoy the football at least

How has Di Matteo failed? done a great job at MK Dons and was doing ok at West Brom untill he got sakced.

Get a manager in now but keep Thorn/Harrison to help him out. That way the new manager gets to know the players before the summer and can decide who he wants to keep/get rid off before the summer transfer window opens.

ok failed perhaps a bit harsh, but at West Brom not a great succes either. Would have undoubtedly gone down imo this season if they didn't change (and sill may). To get promoted, like Chris Hughton with Newcastle, did an ok job and couldn't do more than beat what's in front of you, but by far the strongest two teams in the league and ran away with it. Anything less than automatic would have been a complete failure but got over the line when Forest fell away. At MK Dons picked up a strong squad that at one time were clear at the top under Ince before he jumped ship to Blackburn and missed out on the automatics. Strong for league but never got out and finished third. So I was perhaps being harsh, although he hasn't really been tested in a club or conditions anything like ours and would command a sizeable salary. My opinion remains that we should look elsewhere.

That's an opinion though - they may have stayed up, nobody will ever know now. They were on a bad run but teams can come through them. I don't think you can say it would've been a failure if they hadn't finished in top 2 either. Look how many times the favourites don't go up, let alone through automatics. I do, however, think he's not completely proven himself but then why would anyone come to us who had proven themselves at this or a higher level.

I would get DiMateo in now so we get that new manager they all have to prove themselves to and so he gets to see who is worth keeping.

Staying with the caretakers is a very risky business indeed.

Yep for sure. If we appoint another manager who doesn't fit in with the new regime we could shortly find ourselves with more managers on the books than players

I couldn't see the City Managers job being particularly attractive in the present climate at The Ricoh. I don't think it's the prospective managers who need to prepare for the job interviews, its CCFC that does.

true but if we get investment with money to spend i feel he would do well, its a tricky one becuase if your a manager applying for us you dont know where the club is with transfer funds for the summer it make or break there season.

We have these money problems with our club atm... Let alone our players macca, hussey etc are invovled in a money laundering situation... Which has been brought to the press attention.
