Heard Sheaf lost his shit yesterday post game

The pressure on him to be the saviour has also been put on him internally not just us fans and he is getting hugely frustrated with the shite around him

As mentioned above he's having to talk wingers etc through the basics of the game, (whoch is clearly affecting his own game) as is Bidwell and both are getting hugely fucked off now. Wouldn't be surprised to see him go in Jan tbh

Also, feel for Eccles who is genuinely taking these performances to heart. As a cov kid and fan he feels he needs to be the man to change things but alongside Sheaf and Bidwell it's not being listened too
That can’t be true, we were told he’s a passive cuck.

ok so if we could sell the following for the fees mentioned in january and rebuild with hopefully the Gyokeres money would you take it

Haji £5m
Simms £4m
MVE £8m
Kitching £1m
EMC £2m
Gyokeres money £6m

so in effect £26m to rebuild effectively needing
3 full backs
1 centre back
2 midfielders
2 forwards for that money
No because we’d end up being even more screwed.

In Jan I’d be adding all the players Doug apparently vetoed in the summer so:

- dynamic midfielder
- Experienced CB
- Loan RB for cover

So it's another recruitment fuck up?
The CM on the bench isn't good enough to put on for 10 or 15 minutes in place of a tired player on a booking?
What a state of affairs.

Latí has been brought on at CDM before to see out games. Torp has been brought on to push to win games. Guessing Robins thought the players on the pitch could win us the game, just horrifically naive play to get caught 2 on 2. I’d have had latí on for sheaf myself as he was blowing near end

Basics are costing us at the moment.

Not really understanding the above comments, when the players we spent money on nearly took us to the FA Cup final. Problems run deeper than individuals, no player could come into the club right now and play better than average consistently. The squads fine (barring short of numbers in midfield), we need to evolve tactically.

There's a lot of people on here that need to wait for the emotion of losing to wear off before they post. Not 2 months ago people were saying they'd turn down £10mill for Simms, £15mill for Haji and £15mill for Sheaf. We have a bad start to the season and all of a sudden they've lost 50-75% of there fees.

Ellis Simms a 23Y/O 6ft3 powerful English ST with 19 goals in his first full season in the Champ is worth £5mill because of a poor start.
Haji Wright a 26Y/O 6ft3 US International winger with 19 goals in his first campaign in England is worth £7mill because of a slow start.

Get a grip fellas.

But that's what it will end up if it's not sorted, this too and fro from the fan selection is quite frankly a Put off (

If it's true about having to talk wingers through the basics, what the hell are all the coaches doing? Apart from sitting in a row in the dugout like a load of vultures on a the branch of a tree.

If you buy a centre forward and play them wide left don’t be surprised if they don’t know the position.

EMC doesn’t play wide right, Wright doesn’t play wide at all.

To merely counter the point made about Haji, he was deployed as a LFW at his old club - he had a lot of success there, with a deep-laying playmaker (can’t recall his name) pumping long balls over the top for him to utilise.

Then, if the build up was from the right, Haji would break into the box. Essentially what he did for us last season, with success.

He plays there for the USMT doesn’t he? His assist for Pepi the other night came from a wide position.

Haji is more than adept at being effective in the wide forward role. I would point new tactical input this season, that’s rendering him only sporadically successful so far this season. Think back to last season, and how shit he was in a front two…

Is he expected to track back and do defensive stuff with the US?

Wright plays the position perfectly as an inside forward.

He actually does play wide out of possession.

On the ball Haji is the best attacking threat we have. Capable of Prem league class. Scored plenty of goals in his Cov career. What's not to like. The players around him & the coaching staff need to get him on the ball more often.

Wright, Simms, Sakamoto

Probably Bassette & Thomas

Maybe even Dovin and Torp.

also, just because we don’t get a “return” on a player doesn’t mean the money is wasted.

It does if you’re entire transfer strategy is based around getting a return.

Maybe Dovin if he comes good, I can’t see any of the others.

All depends ultimately how much of the money in those players is set up in conditions on performance.

For example if simms is 3.5 million with the rest on condition, think we could get that back.

Sakamoto was 1.2 million so should get that back. Very similar to Thomas.

There's plenty of time to get a return on all of them tbh

Szmodics would have sold for no more than £1m 2 seasons ago, and only interest would have been from a mid to higher championship team at best.

Haji is on for 15/16 league goals again without even playing that well- if he hit 20 this year he’d obviously be worth more than £7.7m.

Simms is out form but after 19 goals last year any decent return this year (15+) he’d easily be worth more than £3.5m.

Sakamoto was less than £2m, he’s worth more than that now. And 5x that if he recaptures form from last season.

And trying to profit off player transfers doesn’t mean every one has to be a success- most of the return is going to be from the one or two players you manage to flip for £15-20m.

At the moment Haji isn't being played as an out and out forward. He's being played as a winger who largely doesn't support his fullback, In fact I don't think he has the engine or physique to do that.
So at the moment he's pretty much a luxury player.
If he's played it should be upfront as a two.

Nah. Playing on the left as an inside forward is his best position. And how many goals are we actually conceding down the left? Not many, our right hand side is the much bigger issue.

What a bizarre take some have. We’ve wasted all of that money?? We bought two strikers who got close on 20 goals each. You’d easily get the Gyokeres money back from just those two. And with the rest of the cash + Hamer we’ve constructed half a squad - all of whom are our players.

We evidently have loads of quality in the squad and it's batshit to act like we need to reset the whole club

No reason why something subtle like a change in formation or the addition of a leader can't happen and make everything click
I'd have given you 2 likes if I could have, just for the use of batshit 🤣

Really cool that we're turning on our captain now. All it took was an international break! You love to see it.

Hasnt the Physique !!??
He is 6ft 4" !! & 12 stone 4Lb !!
& I don't apologise for the imperial measurements. I mean 1.97metres ? & 78Kgs ??
Meaningless Euro stats.

197cm is closer to 6 ft 6. Haji isn't 6ft 4 either, and he definitely will weigh more than 78kgs, but other than that, spot on.
