He cost a fraction and is significantly younger for a start.
So was Tavares when we signed him

Thought he would of been at Shrewsbury by nowSo was Tavares when we signed him
.....and there he is in the match day starting line up!He’s a striker who hasn’t scored a goal absolute nonsense from you
Being in the team isn’t an achievement for a multi million pound signing.....and there he is in the match day starting line up!
Not bad for a teenage striker who hasn't scored a goal yet.
Looked very rusty to me. He improved somewhat in the second half, but even then, his shooting was awful and he misplaced a number of passes.Maybe it's rustiness but he's playing like he doesn't want to be here as well. Sloppy passing, trying shots when they aren't really on and not showing much leadership
Seen it in plenty of players before when they think they've become too good for us. Start trying the spectacular too often, they still put in effort but play for themselves and the individual plaudits rather than for the benefit of the team and they nearly always play worse because of it.Sheaf needs to stop trying to shoot. It's one of his greatest weaknesses and his inability to recognise what his own strengths and weaknesses are hurt us when we get into good positions.
Its more the way Sheaf and Eccles shoot , they look to leather it . Top midfielders look to place it side foot into the corners especially around the edge of the penalty areaSheaf needs to stop trying to shoot. It's one of his greatest weaknesses and his inability to recognise what his own strengths and weaknesses are hurt us when we get into good positions.

He's more likely to follow the Hamer and CoH route and play for another Championship yo-yo club.No top flight clubs will be looking at him if he carries on like this. Very far away from his normal standards.
True, if he can't hit target from the penalty spot he certainly not going to have much luck outside the box.Sheaf needs to stop trying to shoot. It's one of his greatest weaknesses and his inability to recognise what his own strengths and weaknesses are hurt us when we get into good positions.

Probably seriously regretting not pushing harder for a transfer this summer.I could be wrong but he played today way off it. Wonder if he’s over thinking due to pressure (think Saddle said something about the internal pressure on sheaf). Seemed to be snatching at shots and imo wasn’t as calm as normal in his passing

Did anyone actually say he’d go for £20m+? You claimed it was £25m the other day.It wouldn't have made a difference. The demand for him was nowhere near what he, or many on here think it was. Despite what futmob says regarding his 'close passing stats'.
'£20 million+ to the PL' is now 'he's probably going to go to a top Championship team'.
The whole thing is a shit show. Now we are stuck with him as captain. If it's true they gave it to appease him for the 'it's him or me' thing with Viveash then it's even worse. Shite again today and needs to be moved on. Not a leader and the most overrated player I've seen in a CCFC shirt for a very long time.

Yeah I’m sure he spends his time scrolling through Twitter and this place for validationYes. It's been proved on the other thread.
Now we are at the 'he'll go to a championship yo-yo club' stage is quite the come down coupled with the amnesia. It's very strange how the over-hyping became so contagious between fans, and I'm actually not surprised it all went to his head.
Not replacing Hamer has been a major fuck up. Agree he should have been eased back in we were told our entire season being successful would happen when he returned from injury, which was ridiculous considering how much has been spent. He's was crap, slowed everything down to a snails pace. Should have been eased back in in fairness. Failure to get in another CM was another massive fuck up.

All that money spent but a complete failure to even get close to replacing Hamer with all that time to do it in is embarrassing. Not replacing Hamer has been a major fuck up. As I’ve said elsewhere, he’s a player who’ll go on to play for a better team than us yet is apparently not good enough for us.I'm not sure how you can try to deny those conversations took place given that you took an active part in them. He's also parroted a lot of what people have said as recently as this week.
As someone who has been fan-girling
him for a long time, it seems quite clear you aren't taking the reality very well.
Tbf the list of teams better than us could grow pretty significantly at this rate.As I’ve said elsewhere, he’s a player who’ll go on to play for a better team than us yet is apparently not good enough for us.
A bit like players like Jacob Murphy.
