It's always possible that he said he wanted to leave, then when no one came in for him, said he'd sign if offered a new contract.

That's probably most likely.

Have all of you above got amnesia? The bloke is abysmal

Name a game where Brad Collins has won us points or saved us?

Im not a fan of Wilson either i think hes turd, but he's at least got a golden glove under his belt and prone to a worldie

Collins playing was inconsequential to the result of the game, why are you obsessing over this?

Im not on about last night, we were schooled by them from about 10 minutes in tbh, we were dog shit

Im stating that in my view, any ideas we may harbour of a top 6 finish have taken an absolutely huge blow losing Dovin

Dovin has won us points single handedly this season, we all know it.

Collins, on the other hand, has cost us points single handedly

We’ve been well beaten by Leeds and Sheffield United, both teams looked much stronger than us. It will be interesting to see how we do against Burnley. One of the differences last night was the aggression shown by their forwards against the passivity of ours. Wright was anonymous and I think he shows signs of being a flat track bully. He’s going to score goals when we’re on top of the game, but he’s not going to dig us out when our backs are against the wall. I may be wrong, and he is coming back from a long lay off, so will become stronger. Still not convinced of the quality of our forward line. It wasn’t until Rudoni came on that we showed any urgency, he looks like a really good player.

I’d be surprised if we see Dovin again this calendar year yet alone this season

I’d have taken a 9-0 pasting over him getting injured especially if we’re going to persist with that fucking waster in goal

Now the dust has settled. Think I owe United an apology as they looked very good value for top two.

Defending wise, very organised and made us look very average. Dealt with our threats all game and while I don’t think we actually played that badly the individual quality they have blow us away.

Concerned over Dovin obviously as per above he’s won us games (think his goals prevented figure is plus 4?) but will get behind who ever comes in. After all, a lot of our players we’ve written off this year have done decent.

Will say we looked ineffective without Simms this game and think we might A: want to look at Wright back on left wing or B: rotate the two based on the opposition and how deep they will play as think Wright does better when he has space in behind while Simms is good at making space for others.

Least Asante should be back next week 😂

Bidwell Torp and EMC out

Da Silva Rudoni and Simms in

Poor decision offering Bidwell a contract, Da Silva is better, there I’ve said it

I'll prefer to believe Robins on this one.

Robins never said that it’s an SBT reading comprehension based fact.

Wright is quality and one of a few of our players that could play in the PL.

Given 2 weeks ago we smashed the team comfortably in 4th you'd have to say its hard to see beyond whoever finishes 3rd prevailing in the play offs.
Off course football doesn't always work like that.

you say this and yet WBA drew twice with both Sheff Utd and Burnley, and Sunderland have beaten Sheff Utd once this year, and taken 4 points from 6 against Burnley, so not sure why our result makes you think neither have a chance

I also still think we’ll take something from Burnley

Great points. Like Derby felt had to be same team, hindsight suggests different. Obviously easy after event but a learning.

genuinely think we win next week, then that’s a superb run from these 3….folks gotta remain more balanced!!

would also really help if the real Ben sheaf turned up now, real help!

Slept on it and I thought we were poor again. Tactically and motivation. Players did OK but we didn’t set up well and they wanted it more. We seem to have a problem tactically and a problem midweek which isn’t great.

It’s generally an away problem. Until the squad of players we have can address that, we’re doing nothing. 6 wins from 20 isn’t good enough. Nobody goes up by being a bit more confident at home.

There's always a chance. We smashed Fulham twice in 21 - 22.
Though 3rd statistically wins the play offs more than any other finishing spot (least surprising fact of the day).

But on form and what I've witnessed the top 3 are very strong and its difficult to see beyond whichever one of them ends up in the play offs, but as I say, football doesn't always work like that.

Sheaf is the one, do we just try and play him into form?

appreciate with 7 games to go probs not

With hindsight would have thought we should have gone to a 5-3-2 as counter sides often struggle when sides don’t want the ball.

However without Kitchen fit it would be a very difficult ask as you’d have no CB on the bench and would have started with Thomas-Lati-Binks.

Does this team fair any better? Not sure it would but hope we don’t become rigid in our tactics when we have some good options to switch up our play

Dovin
Lati - Thomas - Binks
MVE - Grimes - Bidwell
Allen - Torp
Simms - Wright

I cant believe there are some on this thread sticking up for Collins

The man is the worst goalkeeper we've had since Burge. He cant command his box, never claims crosses, cant play it out, makes a mess of any saves he does make, yet let's in efforts he shouldn't

Should never have played for us again in my view after the Pompey performance
I’m struggling to understand the decision by FL to have firstly retained Collins as our substitute keeper, once Wilson was fit.
His form prior to being dropped was horrendous. He gifted teams goals and the players in front of him looked nervous wondering what calamity he would do next!

On the point on same team, think we’ve got to try and get away from the mentality of form picking the players.

Obviously you want players on form but think we’ve need to be a bit more pragmatic and picking the right system and players for the game over what worked against a team that in this case play and defend very differently.

Very very easy to say with hindsight though and without any risk

One example in his almost 2 years here
This is just nonsense. He’s had two truly awful runs in the side, but also had an extended period where he was clearly the best keeper at the club. I get that he’s been shit this season but the targeting of him is just childish at this point.

Middlesbrough away last season. Made 2 to 3 blinding saves which allowed us to go on and win 3-1.

I'll have to see if I can find the stat but at one point this season Collins was statistically the 2nd worst keeper in the top 12 leagues in Europe or something like that 😅

I wouldn’t doubt Dovin actually being in trouble if he’s crocked it. The move was completely unnecessary and 100% could’ve been avoided. Doesn’t excuse Campbell being a bit thuggish, but still.
