Be interesting to see who gets a run out

back in the summer we were putting our hopes that either Jodi/Bright or both would need to come good
Now it seems they are both so far away
Not sure if we have now moved so far on from Jodi who was an excellent L2 player and suspect a good L1 player

He has only come on as wing back not midfield - with the manager saying he wants another left back it’s difficult to see where’s going to get game time

I was to be fair but that was more in the hope that JJ came back from a 3rd serious knee injury and did well as he's been through a lot and I was hoping he'd show that he's championship material.

I wasn't thinking he (nor Bright) could be crucial to our season though - more decent additions if they came back well from fitness - again, more JJ than Bright.

JJ will get a chance
We've been lucky with injury and illness/suspensions among the forward players
With so many games it's likely that we will need the squad players in due course

With Jodi it was unrealistic to expect him to be making a significant impact at this stage. You've got to take into account the mental fragility as well as the physical that comes with such devastating injuries just as he was on the verge of big things. In his cameos in the first team so far he's done fine but looks short of confidence which is understandable. I think MR is doing the right thing easing him in slowly, few minutes here & there plus building up strength & confidence with the U23s.

Bright well... We all know he has potential to do something, if he can be bothered.

It's good that we're in the luxurious position of being able to slowly reintroduce him, suspect his place on the bench is about maintaining his focus and confidence / mental health as much as it is having him there as an option.

I think Jodi has been unlucky as we've had pretty much all our attacking players fit this season (4 mains strikers and O'Hare). So his chances even off the bench have been limited. If that continues maybe a month's loan to league 1 or 2 might not be a bad idea to give him games.
Early days though, sure he'll get some chances before the New Year

The thought him playing against L2 centre backs sends shivers down my spine...

Don’t think you can do loans shorter than half a season these days.

So imagine Shipley, DaCosta and Jones? Would they be tempted to give Walker a run out? Also is Pask injured?
Pask reported as injured in a recent news article but back in training
Don't know the details
Doubt Da Costa will feature, maybe Rose?

Pask bombed out since we signed Kane dacosta ahead of him now says it all

He needs to play somewhere if he’s not going to here. Only got a 1 year contract and atm it’s unlikely he gets a new one
I think there is zero chance of a loan because of the risks involved. I imagine if MR does not think he will make enough impact to retain him, the club will allow his contract to run down and let him leave on a free to allow him maximise his wage opportunity with our best wishes.

Yes hopefully he can get somewhere sorted if he isn’t going to get a look in here. Though he would have to drop a couple of levels to get a long term contract I think

Sheffield United are heavy favourites for this game, the “intel” must be they’re putting a few first teamers in too

I see MR has confirmed Declan Drysdale is back in training this week. Wonder if he'll make the bench. Bit of a limbo season for him now after two loan spells last season. Then again Eccles came back in 'limbo' but impressed in the u23s and got his shot.

He is a perfect replacement for O'Hare late on in games if we are comfortable, but O'Hare has such great stamina he rarely needs to come off. Just hope Jones gets a good crack at it this season. If he's not up to the standard then fair enough.

I'm surprised MR didn't bring him on earlier for Peterborough or, indeed Fulham when we were 3 goals up. In fact he only brought on Walker for 2 mins. I imagine with our international break he wasn't bothered about resting players and letting them enjoy the match.
