The ability to retain possession and precision with the ball is of more use than being a striker - particularly away from home. And Tats can score

541 hasn’t really worked for us, ends up with the striker isolated and is having trouble getting up the pitch.

Hope Torp's injury isn't too bad. Any news on this?

Chair, Bannon and Grimes are the top midfielders for the clubs outside the top 6.
Hackney, Slimane, Chakvetadze, Nunez, Marcondes?
It's more that they're heavily reliant on him to play a certain way and pretty much everything goes through him. Makes it more difficult for them to find any kind of flow when he's not in the side.

To be fair though they won against Swansea without him, although I'm not sure I'd use that game as a litmus test given their form.

Yeah I guess that certainly makes sense

So playing with ten players unable to get out of our own half even more important. We tried it against Ipswich and it was a disaster. We’re better playing out football in the oppositions half.
The problem against Ipswich and Leeds was not the tactical formation 5-3-2 or whatever, it was the strategic idea of taking a high defensive line. It almost cost us against QPR as well if it had not been for Dovin. They just cut through it. We could have had 20 defenders

I think it was both. Saka and Rudoni don’t get up and support the striker and the central two are defensive minded. Just my opinion but I think we work much better with two up if we’ve got no wide forwards.

Can we pick someone to be captain who is going to play every week rather than keep changing every game
I agree.

But brought on Grimes who organised everything. Didn't tread on toes. Didn't take a players place. Hopefully earns his place so no arguments or resistance and keeps harmony in the side and takes the captains armband.

Do like how we’ve started to take the piss at throwins like everyone else under Lampard.

grimes most obvious impact is just having someone who always comes wants the ball from the defence and not shitting himself when receiving it
