On the slagging off list a few weeks ago

Baker
Ball
Bell
Brown
Kilbane
Daniels (kid playing out of position)
Hussey
Sheff

This week Baker and Ball seem to have made it off, the 'cov fans giving their own players shit list'.

Fingers crossed the shit seasoned international and others on the list with great ability will prove the moaners wrong.

I'm just glad Thorn is off the list.

Think Robins will think some of his signings are on that list though and they will be off.

Where did u hear it

Yesterday at the game, some of the fans think hes not even been turning up to the games even when hes not picked - you know, they sit just behind the dugout if they're not in the match squad or injured.

Northampton was mentioned aswell for his transfer destination

Although I did not agree with the sacking of AT. Have to admit Robins has got a way about him.

However with Malaga as a permanent signing would have preferred him to stay and Brown as a loanee to go back, if we are top heavy on centre backs due to woods transfer falling through.

Must be a bit more to that one.

Interesting not sure if Bell has been there or not.

I think as an injured player you should be there as you are paid to be there. It may keep you in with the team bonding etc aswell

Funny - Murphy had one of the better games ive seen from him yesterday. I really rate him as a keeper at this level, only thing he doesnt do that pisses me off is get the ball down the pitch quick enough after a set piece. he stands there with his arms at the sides and shouts. reminds me of Westy in that respect

Well he was definitely there at the Carlisle game because I saw him beforehand all suited up coming out of Next at the Arena Park with Chris Hussey and some skirt. Unless he was just shopping getting some use out of his suit, he's not exactly going to get much use out of it at awards events or anything...

Brown as a loanee to go back.

Have to keep him till the end of the season (FA loan Regulations) so selling Malaga is a way of freeing up current wages to bring in players that Robins wants.

We can't get rid of Brown so we have to stick with him.

Besides Robins has said he believes there is room for improvement when it comes to Brown. He's obviously doing Fergie a favour!

Maybe Malaga will be more suited to League 2 and if some of the lads on here have it right, he may not be suited to the British game full stop...we may never know!

Someone gave a good reason for why he does this.

He can either:

- punt it down field while his players are still getting into their positions (meaning theres no one to receive it and it goes straight back to the opporsition)

Or

- Wait until his player are in position and then get the ball up to them, hopefully ensuring the ball stays in our possession.

I know which option I'd chose!

I'd say the only time he should be smashing it out quickly is when he spots a player (like Goldie, Cody, Ball or Fleck etc) either making a run forward or in an advanced position with no company around them (because the oppersition is still tracking back).

All other times he needs to make sure there are players set up to receive his kicks etc so taking his time is more down to the rest of the players not getting into position fast enough rather than to him being slow etc

I wasnt having a pop at Brown. Was just thinking Malaga is a permanent signing, whereas Brown is a loanee.

Did not realize he is here till the end.

Was thinking if he was on the bench all the time Fergie may send him elsewhere in January. Whereas Malaga is ours.

Plus I thought transfer listing Malaga does not mean he will go anywhere. Whereas Brown as a loanee could go back.

However sounds like that is not an issue.

I wont go into it in detail but its all to do with a specific claus in the loan contract. If it exists then we can send him back in January. But if it doesn't then we have to keep him till the end of the season!

Sir Alex could recall him but again there has to a certain claus in the contract for him to be able to do it etc

It's called a right royal pain in the ass lol

On Malaga I can only assume Robins doesn't think he's cut out for this league or our team.

He seemed genuin though when saying he would find him a good club to go too.

I noticed this on Saturday. Murphy has to stand in the area with the ball waiting for the outfield players to jog slowly to what seems to be a pre-determined position. None of them seemed to be in a hurry, and no-one turned to look in Murphy's direction. Maybe they thought that the game could not continue until they were finally ready. It needs sorting out or Murphy will start getting yellow cards for time wasting.

It makes me smile when I see lines like this as if the players go out and say "I'm going to have a shocking game today, I think". No player goes out to play a poor game. If they are not good enough or have lost their ability now that's a different thing, but I certainly don't think ANY player goes out on the pitch with the intention of having a bad game.

How do we know he "loves" Coventry? Funny way of showing it.

You are slightly missing the point. The observation was that because a player comes from the town they end up playing for they are better players for them. This is not true and irrelevant in their performance levels.

Maybe I was missing the point, Duff. Won't be the first or last time. However, I certainly don't think McSheff has been any worse than a lot of others. Nor Barton for that matter. Nor Hussey when I come to think about it.

Ahh, funny you mention those three Torch, cos I think a lot of the flack aimed at these exact three players is the accusation that they have looked like they don't give a shit and could perhaps have tried quite a bit harder.

Not saying that's my thoughts, just that on here that has been the accusation at these three players and these are the three who have probably been singled out the most.

I have a problem with this thread and the need to pidgeon hole players into two catagories !!!
The problem is the amount of negativity that this breeds !!
I believe MR will sort the squad out but it will take time and even though we have just had three good results the usuall suspects on here are expecting us to run before we can walk.

very well said although MR obviously see's something in barton we didn't because i know barton is a bit lazy in possion but he does have the ability to produce something special i.e a pass or shot or something maybe that's why robins uses him? untill jennings is fully fit, i'd use jennings and bailey in the centre be a very solid midfield then.

Murphy won't be accepted because he's not Westwood.
Reece Brown won't be accepted because he's not Keogh.
Mcsheffery wont be accepted because he's not Mcsheffery of 5 years ago.

We need to accept that these players are playing in league one for a reason.... That is thier standard! I am fed up of fans booing or slagging off players, its so counter-effective.

Cov fans will never be happy and I think the majority must get a buzz out of moaning. Im sure if we won the league by 20 points some would moan that we didnt win by 30.

I'd say get rid of:

McSheff - his poor performances aside, to high wages
Wood - if his 12k p/w wages are true, needs to go.
Bell - deserves a chance under MR, but if past performances are to go by...
Moussa - if he don't pick himself up! Been overlooked (escaping criticism) in the last two games because Barton has been equally disappointing. But I tip Moussa to pick himself up
Kilbane - has been poor but good to have at the club, signed a 1yr deal so just let it expire.

The first 3 are the big ones, Moussa just needs to pick himself up as with Barton but we aren't going to get rid of him as he has talent and we paid for him!

EDIT: let me stress that I rate Moussa but bar Arsenal, hasn't shown why he deserves a contract.

I agree with everything above but I think it is a vocal minority as oppose to a majority.

It just makes me laugh how the likes of baker and hussey who clearly have an abundance of ability. They are confidence players who feed off support and encouragement.

Some people cut off their nose to spite their faces.

It will be interesting to watch the shit list and see players gradually coming off it.

Ball seems to managed to do it based on 20 minutes football so it shows how fickle people are.....
