To every single forum member that was depressed as fuck after that thing that happened at Wembley. Joking aside, I know a few people close to me that slipped into a rather depressive state - myself included. It's only a game they say, but for the majority of us it's the only light in a rather dark world.
We've done our time being depressed by football, new season starts soon, we've signed some absolute quality and the club's future looks as bright as ever.
Time to rejoice and go fucking mental. Come on City!!

Was thinking it today. Luton are in for a year of misery and we seem to be in for a year of entertainment. I’m over the playoffs now.

I agree that its a time to rejoice but I question your understanding of depression.

It's a weird thing but as much as it would have been great to win the occasion, the coming season would be miserable. Being in a league where we can compete on the front foot is better if you ask me.

If you're struggling, literally Google it...."Depression is a low mood that lasts for weeks or months and affects your daily life"
I'm not saying I was suicidal, just in a very bad mood for a few weeks. Chill out.

Of course losing the play-off was depressing to say the least but stepping back being realistic and looking at the work going on with the squad I’m okay with it. Similar work would have been needed doing had we gone up and although we would have had a lot more money and probably have kept Gyokeres it would have been a mammoth task to be as good as most of the bottom group of last years prem. This way we can seriously challenge again and if successful 🤞have a much better squad to build on with the prem money.

I think we'll be in a better position if we go up this season rather than last, obviously that means actually going up though.

The loss on the day as well as the journey home on the trains was bad enough.
Felt like it was our only chance but after a week of being a grumpier bugger than normal, I started to feel better.
It’s strange how football had effected my mood but much better now and renewed hope with some of the signings we’ve made!
PUSB!

The main annoyance for me on the tube back, was some youngish Arsenal fan, showing off to his girlfriend, by feeling the need to impart his knowledge/wisdom about losing at wembley to some Cov fans sat near us…
“I know what it’s like. I was there when the Arsenal lost to Birmingham city in the milk cup (or something)…”. Then patronisingly rambling on in his estuary accent for what felt like an eternity. Tbf to the cov fans they didn’t tell him to shut his trap and mind his own fucking business. Which I was tempted to shout across at him.
The part of me that embraces melancholia, thinks it’s kinda poetic that we lost.
I was surprisingly good with it all. The bigger picture is that it’s all part of being a fan…the lows make the highs all the sweeter.
I go back to that feeling when Hamer scored quite a lot…and occasionally mutter “fucking Dabo” * to myself.

*I don’t blame him at all.
