Love to give that wanker Maton some verbal abuse but he's blocked me on Twitter :banghead:
Whats his twitter thingy? Am on it but never use it, would be good for a 1 time rant at the dickhead.

Not sure enough time has passed for people to spill much that we don't know. Even before you consider the court cases going on.

I'll wait and see what other say. Is Ann Lucas recording the audiobook?

I didn't realise you could select the '80 a day' narrator

I don't think there is much of a good relationship between the CET and CCFC..

That's a genuinely superb set of answers, from both sides :D

(Hoping someone less drunk than me takes a screenshot so that the comments aren't lost ;))

So it seriously is about the book that someone posted a link to days ago? I’ve never agreed with much of the stick that Simon gets on here, but really that is about the shittiest most self-centred thing imaginable. Counting down for a week, calling it “exciting news” and with PUSB as a tag? The book was an obvious possibility, but I dismissed it on the grounds that nobody would be that narcissistic. To bring back an old-fashioned phrase, what a git.
So you write a book! Don't tell nobody, grow up FFS he's the same as everyone else
he's trying to move forward in his chosen profession.
He should / would normally be encouraged.

Unfortunately he's embroiled in this "shit "

I think the issue was the way he tried to make people think it was news about ccfc to get interest.

Bang on. I said as much in post #48 on this thread. He fucking knew that putting the words 'exciting news' and 'pusb' would get fans thinking it was something other than a book.

Using emotions to make money.

I used to think Gilbert was alright, even after all the shit he got on here. But not after this little stunt.

I think it's a bit harsh on him tbf. For him it is exciting news - if I had a book published I'd be shouting from the rooftops. And the #PUSB is because it's about the Sky Blues. It's not his fault we wished it was something positive about the club for once.

It's quite clear he jumped on the back of CCFC and the issues to try and promote it, I get that it is exciting news for him but you only have to see from some of the comments on his countdown posts that people were getting their hopes up on various things. He didn't make it was clear it was just about him and his news, or correct people when they asked certain things like is it about SISU or transfers etc.

As soon as somebody found the link to his book, it was clearly what it was about and people will probably read it just because they support CCFC.

I think it is more harsh to take advantage of city fans like that.

'I know that you are all worried about the future of your football club. We don't know where we will be playing. It looks like our academy has lost its home to Wasps as well. But I have some exciting news. PUSB'

Wonder if the book will finish with our return or if it will also cover the stadium sold to Wasps soon after we were back.

I think it will finish with his self declaration that he mastermind the Ricoh return.

It will fail to mention how he then went missing when Wasps rocked up.

Already done:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simon_Gilbert_(journalist)

He is an award-winning journalist who spearheaded the Coventry Telegraph's #bringCityhome campaign in the summer of 2014.[2]

The campaign resulted in Coventry City F.C.'s return to the city following their exile at Sixfields in Northampton and drew praise from national media and figures within the football world. It was shortlisted at the Press Gazette British Journalism Awards 2014 in the Campaign of the Year category[3] and won the Campaign of the Year Title at the 2014 Pride of Trinity Mirror Awards.

Sort of takes the piss out of the trust, as although I don't agree with a lot the trust have done or said. So much of the things he takes credit for was down to them and their hard work.
