Not uncommon in the States for the stadiums to be publically funded. Hopefully any potential American owner realises we're an exception over here and accounts for it in their plans.
Unless your a city fan why would anyone want to buy us over any other club in the efl.
You get nothing for your moneyother than a big hole in your pocket for no return without spending a fortune
You can also see the hate that could happen if it doesn't work.Because you see an opportunity. Someone literally could become a hero here such is the hate and toxic atm.
We have been and can be a big team again. We have a massive catchment area. Bigger stadium than most all be it rented for now. Wasps could be in the shit in the future. The brand the name the history.
There are also lost if negatives but I hope my point shows. We aren't perfect. Is anyone?
Because you see an opportunity.
Not a lot looks like they might get promotionSo without the emotional response of CCFC, what is our opportunity ahead of, say, Plymouth?
Sometimes I worry though. The desperation to be rid of SISU seems to enable a frenzy that allows others' failings to be glossed over. It'd be horrific if some day they left and we welcomed in a total shyster when... we had no reason to.
Not trying to be funny but chances of us being sold by SISU are virtually nil (with or without the Telegraphs pompous petition)
Isn't it better to try and support the team for the next few games and try and get some points on the board?
Not really sure anyone's convinced me being bottom of the table is SISUs fault. Was it due to them we were top last year either?

I seem to remember Portsmouth going through a number of owners in a short space of time before fan ownership and each one being worse than the last. I'm always mindful of that prospect.
Plymouth? Did you mean Pompey? Historically Coventry is a similar sized club to Portsmouth. So without the emotional response of CCFC, what is our opportunity ahead of, say, Plymouth?

That's okay, we're not building a stadium either. Can I just say though, that much as I'd like it to happen, I'm far from convinced by the rumours. I'm certainly not building any hopes up, personally.
Hoe.Nope, I meant Plymouth.
Hoe.
If involves Coventry City I'm pretty sure it is.This is no laughing matter Otis
No I don't think he did. IIRC he submitted an expression of interest but didn't put in a bid in the end.Did he submit a bid to buy the club?
Given the Telegraph campaign, it is odd that the club have chosen not to roll out the usual 'the club is not for sale' statement.

So I don't know tbh...but what about Bournemouth? Fulham? Huddersfield? Birmingham? Burnley? Burton? Their owners have >£500m to wealth & £100m to spare do they? What makes those clubs more attractive to such people than CCFC?That is realistic, any new owner need £500m+ wealth backed by an active profitable business that makes money. That excludes Wasps 100% owners wealth more like £30m

I would think the best advice being given to SISU is to keep quiet and to ride it out. Lets be honest they are not well known for their communication and its quality. If they came out and made a statement even just "the club is not for sale" then it will only stoke the fires. Keep quiet and at some point the noise ebbs away. Its not as if it is easy for CCFC fans to protest directly against SISU so our owners probably feel protected by the various types of distance in place
Which brings the question, the petition and then what? Whats the CT plan?
I would imagine quite worried especially after what happened to Sandra's brand after getting in bed with themWould be interesting to know what CRFC take is on the goings on last week. Has it affected how they view the potential partnership at BPA, do they feel more or less secure in that partnership? Or the sponsors Allsop & Allsop how do they view what is going on and how it reflects on their brand? .
Do you think they've been listening to best advice for the lat 9 years?
that would depend on what they were being advised about eg......
clearly they should never have listened to Ranson and v Onye
I would think the advice on how to break the lease was accurate - but they then pushed it too far
However I think most people if they looked at it from SISU point of view would advise the owners to be quiet and see if this storm passes. Its not a strategy they will find too difficult to accept given that the owners say very little in public in the first place.
Will they listen to a local newspaper and 15k signatories of the petition shouting at them - I doubt it, why would they now suddenly change strategy and engage meaningfully?
Whilst I also hope it is the start of something new and amazing, you can't help but think we would have heard a lot more from other sources too wouldn't we?
Also, if the Telegraph decide to jump on at the end because they have had a whisper it hardly makes them look very good does it? The same as they did with Sixfields.
