Seriously? You're not happy now because of the order in which they announced the good things they were doing?

Perhaps they used punctuation in their statement. He will probably complain about that next.

So surely it is decent PR in that instance? They don't have to do it because of somebody else's actions on a bridge.

I say over and over how bad their PR / Marketing / handling of stuff is, but can't really complain can we?

If Joy Sepalla killed a puppy outside the Ricoh you be saying she was cruel to animals

If Nick Eastwood or Anne Lucas killed a puppy outside the Ricoh you'd say that's life unfortunately.

Yes, because moaning that Oldham got an announcement first isn't showing signs of being entrenched is it
ITs a reply to the thread ,if you think , the club have good pr , then that's your opinion , I just don't share that , nothing more nothing less

No, I think their PR and Marketing, is usually dog shit. Doesn't mean, that if they do something, half decent that they, don't need to it is still, bad though does it?

She would then sue the puppies owners using CCFC money for getting blood on her clothes and ruining them I imagine.

The point about public relations is to make people feel good about you or your company , im sure oldham fans will think the pr is wonderfull , when they read the statement first thing this morning , the point is the pr machine should be aimed at your own customers first , as they are the ones you want to come back , if you think it doesn't matter as long as they do something positive eventually then I like thousands of other Coventry fans don't agree , my evidence is the gates we are getting , some of your fellow posters think they know better and there isn't a problem , that's what opinions are all about

No in the past you have made some very good points , and also some not so good points, in my opinion
Meaning I have agreed on lots of things you have said before , not all

Fair play to the club for refunding Oldham fans stuck on the motorway. Credit where credit is due.

At the risk of butting in...

Is indeed fair play, and a decent gesture.

Whether their PR is working or not is how far said gesture gets into the media and public consciousness.

well I heard about it then come on here so something must be filtering through. But I agree with what you say it does not mean their PR is fixed...making good decisions doesn't necessarilly mean goo PR.

Exactly, same with JSBS and SBITC. They do some great things but nobody hears about it.

Doubt it... They have a run of interviews with Wasps owner... Infinitely more important in their eyes.

If only our owners would do an interview with the telegraph. Wait, no it can't be that. If only the telegraph would do an interview with the our owners.

Do you work for the Telegraph Tony? If not how do you know the Telgraph have approached them or not? Still must be difficult what with Simon working all day on Wasps stories.

This wasn't an interview - it was allowing blatant Spin and advertising to go unchallenged.

They would know first because their Chairman requested a refund, if possible, and it was agreed before the game started

I think both clubs deserve credit for a sensible view....a little repayment for fans loyalty and commitment to travel mid week.

First off Nick, the Telegraph have reported the Oldham refund..that is where I found out about it.

Secondly, there are some good things going on at the club, whether SISU publicise them and get their PR right is another thing. As Northern Wisdom points out, a good deed or a commendable decision does not always equate to good PR.

The club needs more consistency in how it communicates with the fans. TM seems to have a little more idea in how to coax the fans and build bridges. More transparency around their running of the club is required and some believable forward planning would go along way in starting to rebuild bridges.
