How would a protest before the game affect the players during the game? Yeah, lets protest a check a atrade mickey mouse cup game that will get no attention!
That's what they want.
A silent non effective protest.
All this shit about it bothering the players is just another excuse.
Sisu out chants never made them drop all those points at the start of the season.
Funny but the most vocal Sisu out chants helped us win the last couple of games.
So let's sing it load and proud roar the lads on to success. PUSB...

Charlton fan here. Just dropping by to pass on some background info.
We're expecting a solid turn out for the protests on Saturday. Thousands are boycotting but turning up for this fixture though many of those will not pay to enter the ground.
We got organised last year and have good energy and a protest fund. Some want to go further quicker but most realise this could be a long slog.
We have had a lot of the old arguments like 'why bother?, 'why protest?', etc, to be expected and par for the course, but we try to put our differences aside to focus on a brighter future. Hence the Coalition Against Roland Duchatelet and joint working with fans of other clubs and football fans generally. Some have gone to Belgium to get in the face of the owner, and some are more militant than others.

Posting this in an individual capacity but would be useful to get your views and join the discussions at charltonlife.com.
Hope to see lots of you down there on Saturday. Safe trip. Del.

What do you reckon to this nick, is it worth the effort? Or should i, like you, stay home and eat a sandwich in protest and tell no-one about it?

Whack a name like Coalition or Alliance on and it's bound to work.

Like I said, if it achieves something I will be happy to be proven wrong and eat plenty of humble pie.

It may well achieve very little but these people believe they have to at least try and do something.
I fully support any sort of action that may save our club.

Should all just stay quiet and hope they go away.

No the chants did not win the match another steaming pile of crap spouted - a change in manager lead to freshening up things in terms of team selection and giving the players a bit of a boost combined with a kick up the ass that a change in manager invariably brings.

A bottom of league one clash is hardly a showcase really for a protest - sheffield would be better but not as convenient as London for most which is the inconvenient truth unfortunately.....

So all-in-all, was it a semi-success?

Really enjoyed the protest and walk to ground. City and charlton fans as one. Great camaraderie .
Start of game the throwing if the pigs (mine were confiscated) was good. Stopped game and all round ground pigs were thrown. Got into the media BBC and Sky.
Songs throughout re SISU out, Roland out, etc. Even when we were 1 down we were very vocal for us and them. Successful yes off the pitch but unfortunately on it we were not good enough.

Great article need to read the comment from their manager says a lot.
People have a right to protest as long as they do it safely, none of this bullshit whining about it affecting the players.
Funny how they had protesters on 3 sides of the ground yet still managed to win.

Or maybe they were put off by it and the real score should have been 6-0.
