What takes place in the dressing room should stay in the dressing room.
I've got to say that in my opinion Reda could have made it back to Heathrow by Friday afternoon, had he so wished, and made the game on Saturday. Not ideal preparation, but it's what I'd have expected from the captain.
He arrived back in Manchester on Friday night according to CWR. There is nevertheless a big difference between a goalkeeper coming back from Europe and playing the next day and an outfield player coming back from Africa
He was coming back from Morroco, Agadir, which is hardly deepest darkest Africa. And as I pointed out, and checked myself, he could have got flights that would have put him in Heathrow by about four on Friday afternoon. Why he chose to take the longer combination of flights to arrive in Manchester late at night is anyone's guess.
Pressley though, who I'd venture knows more about the situation than either you or I, or anyone else here, didn't sound particularly impressed. Personally, I'm not massively fussed either way, but I can understand why the manager might feel slightly irked.
Carroll, I note, played on Friday night, caught an early flight on Saturday, and then drove himself to the game from Heathrow. That's a remarkable attitude I'd say...

Would you be in a rush to get back to cov?
Maybe he knows he is finished here? Let's see what the next team selection has in store
I think people are being overly critical on Reda here. Had Roy Carroll not done what he did, this wouldn't even have been discussed further. I'm a Paddy from the North of the Island so am pleased that our national keeper has shown such commitment, albeit to the detriment of Cov at the weekend.
But to be fair, I can't think of one other incidence of a player playing international football and then flying overnight to play a game the next day. The decision was probably taken before Reda flew out that he wasn't going to play as it's the norm.
Carroll has just proved that the norm is no longer the norm. He's also a keeper which does make a massive difference.

That's nothing new though, it seems that all managers hate their players playing internationals.
In fairness WM, Reda played on the Thursday rather than the Friday, but I hear what you're saying here. I suspect that it was agreed beforehand, as you say, but the tone of the interview with SP just had an edge to it when this came up, which makes me think that SP wasn't happy even if he'd agreed. Regardless, although my notional roots are from the South (or West, technically), it's always good to see Norn Iron do well. I know a good few of their fans as exiles. Good lads all, but do not try to keep up with them at the bar!
Strachan used to spend half his lifetime bitching about Hadji and Chippo playing the African Cup of Nations... as though it were a surprise when they were signed!
Forget him missing the game ... if true that he pinned SP against the wall then the bloke should be out of the club today.
Off topic, but man I miss Chippo. Hadji was the better technical player without a doubt, but Chippo loved playing football, it just shone through. So many players now seem to see being on the pitch as a chore...

And it's not as if Carroll had a shot to save on Saturday either

It's great to see the national team do well Duffer. I was 2 when Armstrong scored the winner against Spain in 82 so my 'World Cup Finals' have been wins over Spain and England in the past 5-10 years. I've also had to endure embarrassment of losses and draws to the might of the likes of San Marino, Faroe Islands and Lichtenstein! However, being a Cov fan, I should be used to such feelings!
The whole change in qualifying (Top 2 now qualify and 3rd goes into a playoff) has no doubt improved our chances and I think there is more of a level playing field in the international game now. The so called minnows are getting results all over the board more regularly than they used to which makes the whole thing a lot more interesting. Here's hoping 'Norn Iron' and RoI are in France (?) in 2016 and I'll buy you a pint and see how we get on at the bar with the rest of them!
WM
He's probably a bit miffed having made the effort to get only find the warm-up was the hardest part. Could've had a similar work out in the concourse at the airport with a couple of volunteers.

If Reda did assault his manager surely that's a sackable offence ? Can you imagine that ever happening to say Fergie or Brian Clough, they'd never play football again !
There's a code of conduct in football,or there used to be,that you do not lay a finger on your manager. Then again we were scared of most teachers when I was a youngster and you wouldn't even answer back at them, but now they get assaulted on a daily basis !
