What a classic WUM post. This chump wants to talk about fickle and loyalty after the last x amount of years and the shocking last 3-4 years from sisu. I really find this post offensive.
True , i did however get offended by pressleys post match interview yesterdayOffensive? Really? There are more offensive things in the world than disagreeing with someone about football.
The absolute fiasco that was the ticketing on return to the Ricoh put many off. Those queues for the Yeovil game will not be forgotten by many. City rushed back and were not ready for it. We lost a lot of people after that too.
To be fair 7k is a similar number to those who marched and made all the noise. And those of us who went yesterday are the clubs hardcore, who will go no matter what. Heard some arsehole in the casino yesterday saying 'where are all these wankers who marched' well they were there, and always will be!
Football is an entertainment, that you have to sell at the right price, and the current product is rubbish and costs too much.
Unfortunately for our club, most fans had ran out of steam watching year upon year of shit before all this stadium bullocks started, which has meant the tossers in charge and the Coventry mafia in the council house have been able to behave just how they want. I suspect things would have been very different had this all kicked off 20 years ago.
Unless something positive happens very quickly, I dread to think where the club will be in a couple of seasons.
Sorry gone a bit off tangent there, but think it's all linked somehow.

yeah, let's discuss them things in the world on a football forum.
We do: rent, finance, the law...
In comparison to who?
90% of clubs attendances go down as the clubs performances and league position goes down.
If you drop a league but perform well you may buck the trend.
CCFC need to win the fans back Gillingham showed the club what they have to aim for.
If you can get 27k and others missed out.
Then you get 7700 you know you have run your business better.
All fair points.
But then you have to reflect on the nature of a football club and the definition of support. I mean, say that the Ricoh had been sold out for every game in 2008, 2009, 2010. Would the team be in L1 now? Would SISU even still be here? Are fans not abdicating crucial responsibility if they sit at home waiting for a better tomorrow?

I didn't go yesterday. It's the first game I missed since the return. I live in North Yorkshire and cannot afford to take my lad and I to every game. Something has to give when it costs £20-40 per game before fuel and other costs. I suspect there are thousands in similar circumstances who would love to be there but it has become too expensive to do regularly. I have to pick and choose the games I go to. As Christmas approaches I suspect it will get worse. We had 27,000 for the Gills game despite it being on telly. Is it a coincidence it was only £10 to get in? I don't think so.
No, we are consumers of a product. We a shopping at poundland in terms of what is being offered.

The capitalism metaphor is troublesome. If we were just consumers, then we could switch to another provider for our needs.

Offensive owners, poor performances on the pitch(why pay for that rubbish), poor formation, 3 defeats. Saving their money for Exeter (4k attendance), the prospect of going through more instabiltiy as fans, we missed 23 home games last year so why do we have to walk up to see this crap?
I think the majority of people have decided to leave under their own terms rather than have the club taken away from them. I get that.
