There were plenty of dicks talking about boycotting Papa John's becuae they sponsor the Football League a few weeks ago.

Just hope nobody finds out that Sisu have shareholdings in Esso and BP, the Jimmy Hiller's will be knackered getting to Northampton on their bikes.

I prefer Pizza Express myself, so Papa John's won't get any of my money ever.

You are right but I already said it was both pedantic and a rubbish point? My view here is just to make the point that it is indirectly giving money to Otium and that is all.

no its not .. its giving money to sky.. end of..

i pay uk tax.. and i dont agree with where a lot of uk goverment money goes. but im not the person handing that mone out!.. the deal sky have with the clubs predates any match i might watch in a pub.. you can link anything if you try hard enough.. its

If he had been talking about Liverpool fans and their don't buy the sun campaign he would have had a point about sky, but I got the feeling he was trying to do a bit of an Adrian Durham and attract callers/fill time by being controversial.

Yes it is! For goodness sake, listen to yourself? You pay tax as you say and yes while you don't get to decide how it's spent, you are effectively paying indirectly to where ever that money goes? The key was 'indirectly'.

And as i said , you can link anything 'indirectly' .. And any way sky dont pay the clibs.. They pay the football league, there are multiple links beyween sky and the club recieving any money

Seriously you could say that by buying milk, you gave money to the dairy farmer, who used his profit to buy a new car, in which he knocked someone down ... So you were 'indirectly' responsible... And there is probably less links in the chain there, than there is between my sky payment and the club getting paid the league money.

Its utter bollocks..

Since Pizza Hut went downhill been looking for an alternative.

The publicity reminded me I quite like their Pizzas!

OK, so following your logic - we all pay our TV license, hence SISU get a cut from CWR commentary; we all presumably drive, so SISU are getting a cut from BP etc; we all pay rates so all who live in Cov are giving ACL something; presumably we all have a landline, so we're giving money to BT or Virgin who indirectly pay for carrying the murdoch empire, some of which is dished out to the football league and City get a cut - so we're ALL guilty of giving into SISU and NOPM has failed.

YES! Finally the penny drops. It's not the argument at fault here just the 'fact' in the statement by Linnell. The fact is , as you have correctly now agreed, he was right! Stupid I know but my point was always about the fact being undeniable. Thanks for proving it.

That bloke on CWR said he didn't have Sky..but then Linnell told him he could watch it in a pub and he'd still be guilty of Funding the devil incarnate..SISU Otium..whatever .

Linnell was mocking the campaign IMO.

Sky have alot to answer for.. ..but after watching BT sport (Michael Owen adds zero and Mark Halsey even less) and yesterdays news that is MOTD they are the best at what they do.
When Cov are back in the prem ..sky will be there every other week to show the world whats happening...IN NORTHAMPTON!!

It's not a "fact". You have no way of knowing what money goes where. According to this "fact" all boycotts everywhere are pointless because of the monetary system.

It's a five year olds argument. Not something a grown person shoul seriously consider.

I know right, he didnt really have a clue what he was talking about

I think the point he was trying to make, if loads of people watch on sky then this means sky are more likely to show Coventry games in the future. The more we are on sky the more money the club receive

He just didnt put the point across very well

I think the bloke is right.

Since the NOPM campaign I no longer travel north, don't eat ham and when I buy coal I only buy it in small amounts rather than by the ton.

I have also stopped going to town and keep buying new shoes rather than seeking out repairs at the cobblers.

The only thing proven is that your reverse logic is about on par with his. :D

Well now you have got me thinking. My plumber who services my boiler every year is I know a big City fan, should I ask if he is going to Sixfields, because I would to hate to think I was helping him go there and thus breaking my NOPM. Maybe it would be safer finding a plumber in future who is a Villa fan.
