So... This new stadium is taking a while... (3 Viewers)

That nonsense 'debate' is no more than a classic distraction technique to sideline the discussion initiated by the OP, because the original discussion makes SISU look bad.

Who took the thread onto JR / Court cases and appeals, out of interest?

Does posting "where is the new stadium" over and over again when 99% of people know its bollocks really make them look that bad? How would you have liked the conversation to go? Just every poster saying "boo no stadium"?

Have a look at who took the "Where is the new stadium" thread onto JR / Appeals and Compensation.

like I said I'm not getting involved in debates anymore, I'll give my opinion when it's something new that I've not said before but won't criticise someone else's views nore stand up for my own. That debate has been had dozens of times already and I've given my opinion and defended it far more times than was sensible. Honestly it's embarrassing to me just how many times I've had the same debates, just how often I got pulled into silly arguments and I refuse to continue to waste my life like that and to continue to be part of the problem. I'd like to see the forum get back to friendly banter, not the bitter, deliberate causing of arguments that is so prevalent now. The fact you would ask me that question suggests we are extremely far apart in our views to the point of there being no chance in finding common ground.

No party has behaved properly in this affair. If the council are found to be culpable at the end of this process they alone are to blame - no one else.

Unless they appeal!

It's all very reminiscent of Jarndyce v Jarndyce in Bleak House. An interminable case presided over by lawyers who don't care about the outcome but only about the money to keep the case going. No one in the book remembers all the issues that started the case or the rights or wrongs of each party. Perhaps a new Dickens will one day write Bleak Ricoh

It wont be at the end of the process then.

SISU's skeleton argument indicated the introduction of new evidence and there's also JR2 in the mix, which is all untested waters in court so I believe room for appeal(s).

I think there are polarized opinions on here that makes a debate meaningless as posters revert to their entrenched positions.

My worst experience as a Cov fan (relegations, Sutton Utd) was being around the Ricoh (didn't watch the game) for WAPS v Leicester seeing our stadium full of fans from another sport enjoying a big match occasion that may beyond us.

Yes.

While possibly entertaining for observers, there's times when you know whatever you say, you will not convince the other person to change their opinion to your viewpoint. In fairness, the reverse is often also true.

Better sometimes to step back from the conversation before things end up getting personal or silly.

What's that got to do with anything? That would be a great reply if I had said "count how many times people have posted in this thread" to try and prove a point.

Did you have a look to see who "diverted" the thread?
